Protecting life, environment and property... AutroVoice BR-200 - Loudspeakers AutroVoice BR-200 - Loudspeakers ID: ASAFE_loudspeakers_eng Slide 2 Protecting life, environment and property... Loudspeakers Selecting type How to select the best Loudspeaker To select the correct Loudspeaker type we need to follow some leads: If existing; A specification Which information will the speaker be used for? Speech Music HiFi Etc. Aesthetics Price Cover area Slide 3 Protecting life, environment and property... Loudspeakers Selecting type Standard Loudspeaker types Horn Loudspeakers Cabinet Loudspeakers Ceiling Loudspeakers Projector Loudspeakers Pendant Loudspeakers Cylinder Loudspeakers Bi-directional Loudspeakers Column Loudspeakers HiFi Loudspeakers Slide 4 Protecting life, environment and property... Loudspeakers Selecting type Horn Loudspeakers BBR-MR10A/T, the standard 10W plastic horn speaker for both indoor and outdoor installation. Used in corridors and Normal height rooms as well as outside escape routes etc. Very economic and easy to install. IP66. BBR-MR15/T, 15W plastic horn speaker for medium size areas like sports halls etc. High sound output. IP66. BBR-AR30/T, 30W aluminium horn for larger areas and industrial use. Very high sound output. IP66. Slide 5 Protecting life, environment and property... Loudspeakers Selecting type Cabinet Loudspeakers BBR-CP66/T, a standard 6W plastic cabinet speaker for indoor installation. Well suited in all Normal height rooms. Bi-directional sound system. Very economic and easy to install, as well as high sound quality. BBR-CW4/T, 4W wooden cabinet speaker. The standard white or wooden case for mounting on wall or in roof. BBR-B406/T, 6W plastic cabinet speaker. A briefly larger version of the BBR-CW4/T including a back plate. Slide 6 Protecting life, environment and property... Loudspeakers Selecting type Ceiling Loudspeakers BBR-BK560/T, a standard 6W metal ceiling speaker for indoor installation. Well suited in all Normal height rooms. Very economic and easy to install, as well as high sound quality. Is used in 95% of all case with ceiling speakers. Other ceiling speakers is in plastic or metal with close to the same specifications as the BBR-BK560/T, or with a 30W HiFi element. Slide 7 Protecting life, environment and property... Loudspeakers Selecting type Projector Loudspeakers Pendant/projectors BBR-PS6/T, a standard 6W plastic speaker for pendant or wall mounting. Well suited in most indoor applications. Very economic and it has a large area of use. I.e. pendant from higher roofs, wall mounted or mounted on columns with one of its two mounting brackets. BBR-PS300/T, a HiFi version of the BBR-PS6/T speaker with a 30W 2-way HiFi element. Slide 8 Protecting life, environment and property... Loudspeakers Selecting type Projector Loudspeakers Bi-directional projectors BBR-CAR4/T, a 4W bi-directional speaker for wall mounting. Manufactured in extruded aluminium. Well suited in most indoor applications. Also weather proof version is available. BBR-CAR6/T, a 6W version of the BBR-CAR/T speaker with two elements built-in. Slide 9 Protecting life, environment and property... Loudspeakers Selecting type Column Loudspeakers BBR-CAS6/T, a 6W column speaker for wall mounting. Manufactured in extruded aluminium. Well suited for indoor applications. BBR-CAS15/T, a 15W version of the BBR-CAS6/T speaker. BBR-CAS30/T, a 30W version of the BBR-CAS6/T speaker. Slide 10 Protecting life, environment and property... Loudspeakers Selecting type HiFi Loudspeakers There are multiple choices for HiFi loudspeakers. Some of them has already been mentioned on the slides before. In addition to standard loudspeakers with HiFi element, there are especially larger cabinets, which are used for high quality sound in special applications, as sports facilities etc. Slide 11 Protecting life, environment and property... Loudspeakers Placement The topic of Loudspeaker projecting are way to heavy to be fully instructed here. Therefore we will shortly go through some guidelines here, to try to give some idea of how it should work Loudspeaker projecting Slide 12 Protecting life, environment and property... Loudspeakers Placement Max. 15m Max. 12m Max. 10m Horn loudspeakers are suited for speech only, not for music. To avoid echo, try to place the speakers back to back. For the standard 10W horn speaker, the below figures are a guideline for use in normal height areas. Horn loudspeaker projecting Slide 13 Protecting life, environment and property... Loudspeakers Placement Ceiling and cabinet loudspeakers are rather similar in sound quality and placement. Suited for speech and for music, these speakers can be used for most indoor applications. For the standard 4-6W speaker, the below figures are a guideline for use in normal height areas. Ceiling/cabinet loudspeaker projecting 5-8m 2,54m 5-8m Slide 14 Protecting life, environment and property... Loudspeakers Placement Projector loudspeakers are rather similar in sound quality and placement to the cabinets. Suited for speech and for music, these speakers can be used for indoor applications, especially where the roof height is higher. For the standard 4-6W speaker, the below figures are a guideline for use in normal height areas. The pendants should be placed about 3 to 5 meters above the floor. Loudspeakers Function All loudspeakers in a 50V, 70V or 100V system, has a built- in transformer. These transformers all have different tappings (connections) for different sound outputs. Bear in mind that 1W in a 100V system is rather much! Loudspeaker sound output Slide 16 Protecting life, environment and property... Loudspeakers Function We need to know the loudspeakers SPL to be able to calculate which tapping the transformer shall be connected to. The SPL is a measure for the sound pressure in dB 1 meter from the loudspeaker when the loudspeaker is tapped on 1W. I.e. a standard BBR-BK560/T has an SPL 88dB Loudspeaker sound output Slide 17 Protecting life, environment and property... Loudspeakers Function When we know the SPL of a speaker, we can easily calculate the sound pressure on different distances and tappings. For each time we double the wattage, the sound pressure will increase with 3dB. I.e. the BBR-BK560/T, tapped on maximum (6W) SPL=88dB (1W) are giving 91dB at 2W, 94dB at 4W and about 96dB at 6W. Loudspeaker sound output Slide 18 Protecting life, environment and property... Loudspeakers Function Then we must calculate the sound pressure further from the loudspeaker. For each time we double the distance from the loudspeaker, the sound pressure looses 6dB. I.e. the 96dB we had on 6W tapping will decrease to 90dB 2 metres from the speaker. On 4 metres distance the sound pressure is down to 84dB, and on 8 metres we are down to 78dB. Note: All these numbers are direct sound pressure. Echo and indirect sound is not calculated.
