RRCU’s CEO RetiresSaying farewell to a great leader, Robert Buck

Tuesday, June 19th, RRCU held a retirement celebration honoring Mr. Buck for his dedication to the credit union. After 45 years, 24 as president and/or CEO, we know our credit union would not be what it is today without the watchful leadership of Mr. Buck and our Board of Directors.

We wish Mr. Buck well in his retirement and look forward to seeing him on a regular basis as he continues to be a valued member of RRCU. Thank you, Robert Buck, for your outstanding service.

Red River Credit Union held its 2018 Annual Meeting on Saturday, April 21st, at the Pleasant Grove Performing Arts Center in Texarkana, Texas.

RRCU members and employees were treated to a wonderful musical performance by Branson’s own Shoji Tabuchi Show.

Members who attended the annual meeting entered their name in a drawing for chances to win $3,100 worth of prizes. Cash prizes ranged from $25 to $100 and four $500 six-month share certificates were given away. Congratulations to our winners!

Members had the opportunity to vote for Board of Director candidates also. Eight RRCU members were selected by the Nominating Committee for consideration to fill three 3-year positions and one 1-year position.

Congratulations to our elected board members (shown below) and thank you for your valued service to our credit union.

Nominations for next year’s Board of Directors elections will begin in October. Look for our fall newsletter for details if you or someone you know is interested in applying.

Each school year Red River Credit Union is proud to partner with TASD, TISD, and LEISD. Through this partnership, each high school has its own student credit union and we provide two students with jobs as student tellers. We also provide financial literacy in the classrooms throughout the school year. This program has a great impact on students who are eager to learn and gain knowledge about finances, credit, and budgeting early on. Along with this program we provide a $1500 scholarship to one senior, from each high school, each year. To the right are the 2018 scholarship recipients chosen by our scholarship committee. Thank you to all of the seniors who took the time to complete an application and essay.

Safety tips to help you keep all your credit cards safer: Keep a list of all your credit cards in a safe place,

including the account number and phone number to the issuing company in case the card is lost or stolen.

Always sign a new credit card immediately. DO NOT write the PIN for the account on the card. When making a purchase with a credit card, make sure

you get the card back and the receipt. Check the receipt for accuracy before leaving.

When using a credit card at a restaurant or store, make sure that all blank lines are marked through so that no one can change the final amount.

NEVER sign blank credit card receipts. Review your credit card statement as soon as possible.

Match charges with your receipts to ensure all charges are yours and are for the correct amount.

Only travel with the credit cards you plan on using.

Never give the account number of the credit card over the phone unless you initiate the call.

When making an order over the telephone, try to avoid using a cordless phone. Cordless phone messages can be easily intercepted by devices as unsophisticated as baby monitors and police scanners.

Keep up with tips and alerts with our online Alert Center at www.rrfcu.com. Look for Security Center under Resources.
