PS 24’s School Construction is Progressing!
SPECIAL PERFORMANCES and EVENTS AT PS 24
This week, there were special performances by our first and second grade
students that were wildly entertaining! Many thanks to their teachers and
Drama teacher—Mrs. Kaufman. Kudos also to the costume and stage
crew: Ms. Chow-Sanchez, Ms. Tang , Ms. Mowers and Ms. Kathleen! Up-
coming performances are “Jack & the Beanstalk” and Talent Shows for
4th and 5th grades. Remember to look in your child’s communications
folder for the invites!
Visiting Artist—Erik den Breejen—came for Part
2 with our third grade students—to create art
from a poem. Our children are very excited
and can’t wait for his next visit and the next stage of
their creations!
As many people can see, our school grounds is undergoing major renova-
tion; the School Construction Authority is working hard and has begun to
build. In just another year or two—we will get a much needed extension to
our school building. We’re so excited!

Summer Sports Experience
Playground for All Children 111-01 Corona Avenue (off 56 Avenue) Flushing Meadows Corona Park
Sports Clinics in the Month of June
Soccer: Monday – Friday 2:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m. Learn basic soccer skills, such as dribbling, passing with both feet, shooting, and goalkeeper.
Tag Rugby: Monday – Friday 4:00 p.m. – 5:45 p.m. Rugby is a free-flowing game that features a combination of strength, speed and strategy to move a ball into an opponents territory.
Softball: Saturdays 10:30 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. Learn basic softball drills to develop & improve overall skill levels in hitting, catching, running bases & fielding.
Ultimate Frisbee: Saturdays and Sundays 2:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m.
