Introduction

Psychology is the scientific study of how people act, think, and

feel. Social psychology studies how people act, think, and feel in the context of

society. That is, how people's behaviours, thoughts, and feelings change because

of other people.

The final assignment of Social Psychology consists of 3 different

components. First, we are required to create a 3-5 minutes video clip. The video

clip must be in a single script incorporating of 3 concepts that we have learnt

throughout the semester in class. We are also required to write a 1500 words

report based on the short video and present our video during class.

The purpose of this assignment is to allow the students to recognize and

identify the relation among the concepts and perspectives within psychology

and with others disciplines. Other than that, students will learn how to apply

those concepts taught in real life. This would help the students to have a better

understanding of the concept hence strengthen their knowledge of social

psychology. This would

We are divided by Mr Shankar in a group with 4 members, which

consists of Alfred Loh, Carol Tang, Chee Yuan, and Li Ying. After a short

discussion, we have decided to create a short named “A Change in Life”. This

concepts that we used for this video are prejudice, observation learning, self-

handicapping, first impression, persuasion and motivation.

Procedure

At the first meeting, Carol was suggested an idea for our video clip, we

agreed with her idea and also given some suggestion to improve the story. The

story is about a girl who used to have an unhealthy lifestyle but after the

persuasion and motivated by her friend, she started to change her lifestyle.

After we had finish the story for our video clip. We discussed and figure

out about the theories and concept that might can be included in the story. We

decided to film the whole video within Taylors’ University Lakeside Campus

since it is convenience to all of members.

On the filming day, Carol gave a short brief about her story again and the

roles that each of us will play, then only we start to film. We been tried to take

some scene inside the Uni-Gym in Campus, but the staff said there is no filming

allow in the gym. So, we were adjusted the story after that. We used about 7

hours in two days to finish the filming.

After finish the filming, Alfred was responsible to edit the video and

Conclusion

As we all know that Social Psychology has no boundaries where the

ultimate fun that we had during this project is when we were trying the best

effort of us exploring the field of Social Psychology in order to complete this

project. Upon the completion of this project, it allows us to have a better

understanding of the social psychology concepts. Besides, we manage to

recognize and identify the concepts and perspectives within psychology and

other disciplines. In the end of this project, we are capable to emerge some of

those concepts into our real life situation.

On the other hand, we learnt on how to do shooting and acting skills

through this final assignment. Even though all of us felt awkward at first as

most of us have never tried that in front of the camera especially when we all

are not good in public speaking and public shooting. However, we did try our

best to overcome all the hardship and finally we manage to finish our video on

time. Besides, we also learnt on how to present our video clip in a creative

manner.

Last, but not the least, we have gained more knowledge about the

concepts of social phycology. Apart from the knowledge gained, we found it

interesting during the shooting and editing sessions that we have mentioned

above. All in all, this is a good experience for us and we would like to credit

this to the most bizarre social phycology. We believe that we will spent extra

times on this field in the future even if this is not our main field.
