1 Overview

An Elastic Cloud Server (ECS) is a computing server that consists of CPUs, memory, images, and Elastic Volume Service (EVS) disks and allows on-demand allocation and elastic scaling. The ECS service integrates virtual private cloud (VPC), virtual firewall, and multi-data-copycapabilities to build up an efficient, reliable, and secure computing environment for you toensure stable, continuous running of your services.

The self-service feature of the ECS service allows you to apply for an ECS by yourself. Youare only required to specify CPU, memory, and image specifications. Then, the ECS yourequested is allocated within the minimum time required. In addition, you can modify ECSspecifications based on your requirements at any time.
