The purpose of schedules

• Allow for automatic occupying of VAVs or AHUs instead of requiring them to be manually enabled

• Allow for automatic changes to set-points within the system

• Allow automatic lead lag rotation of pumps, chillers, etc.

Scheduled ItemThe scheduled item is the point that is controlled by the schedule. • Occupancy• Set Point• Lead Lag

Schedule Active time period

• Schedules can be set up to be active for a specific time period.

• Due to the large number of schedules on our system, the amount of memory they consume and constant changes, we do not use this feature.

Display mode within a schedule

The display mode allows us to select between three edit screens within a schedule• Weekly schedule

o Most common used sectiono Allows for the setting of normal occupied time for rooms and AHUso Allows for setting normal set point values

• Exception scheduleo Special times for a particular dateo Special time for a date rangeo Special time for a certain day of the weeko Special time for certain day each montho Set a calendar reference

• Scheduled itemso The item or items being scheduled

Weekly Schedule• Most commonly used for classes and office hours• Set a weekly occupy and unoccupied times for

VAV’s or AHU’s• Used for pump or lead lag rotation of components

within the system• Can be used for set point changes

How to build a Metasys Schedule

The steps involved in building a Metasys schedule include:• Creating the schedule object

o Selecting the schedule locationo Naming the schedule

• Linking the schedule to the control point• Entering the effective time or set point value

Naming the scheduleA schedule should be named something that associates it with the item it is controlling• Room number (most common)• VAV number• AHU number

Schedule configuration

• It is possible to set up the schedule under the configuration screen.

• A system blink can cause the loss of data entered• It is recommended to create the schedule object

and then edit the schedule to enter data

Linking schedule to control point

• The first step in completing the creation of a schedule is to link it to the object it controls.

• A schedule writes at priority 15 within the system by default.

• A schedule priority cannot be set below priority of 9

• It automatically configures schedule parameters such as the State text

Multiple items in schedule items list

• It is possible for a single schedule to control more than one device

• All devices must be of the exact same device type

• The first item in the list is considered the KEY item which sets schedule state text

Unoccupy all days

Page 30: Purpose and set up of schedules in Metasys Extended Architecture

Entering schedule time

• Un-occupy the entire day for each day the schedule will be used. This eliminates control issues we have experienced in the past.

• Enter the occupancy start time• Enter the occupancy end time

Exception ScheduleAllows the choice to schedule:• A certain date• A date range• A certain day of the week• Reference a calendar for a particular day

Exception schedules will ALWAYS override a daily schedule. • Remember to include the daily hours whenever

setting up an exception schedule
