Regional Level Coordinator workshop of WAGGGS Global Advocacy Programme

Regional Level Coordinator workshop of WAGGGS Global Advocacy Programme for Youth of Eastern Region was held at State Training Centre, Ganganagar, West Bengal from 12th to 16th September 2016. 78 Participants consisting Young Unit Leaders/Rover and Rangers and 07 Staff member from Bihar, East Coast Railway, Eastern Railway, Jharkhand, Odisha, South Eastern Railway, and West Bengal State Association participated. The course was started in the afternoon with Flag ceremony, after registration and settle down in the morning.

On 1st and 2nd day Free Being Me Sessions were taken by Mr. Bablu Goswami ROC(S) ER Miss Chhavi Goyal, Mr. Raj Kumar Prasad Gupta, Mrs. Madhu Jha ,Mrs Barsha Rani Panigrahi, Miss. Sulochana Mangeraj and also by leader of the Course. Participants were learnt about Image Myth, Beauty around the World, Mirror Mirror, Air Brushing, Cost Of Image Myth, Media Detectives, Breaking News on Body Confidence,

Magazine Cover, Beauty Bubbles, Role Models, No more body talk & Take Action Plan. It changed our character a lot & help us in gathering positivity in ourselves.

On 3rd day we started 'Surf Smart' its tagline is Staying Safe Online. it was very interesting & most useful topic for the 21st century. We learnt about various online threats, Spamming, Phishing, Hacking, Virus & Antivirus, Advantages & disadvantages, Perfect Password, Privacy & Settings & many more, it was really useful to us. On 4th day sessions on Stop the Violence we seen many videos, presentations and came to know about Gender equality, ratio, superstitions in the society etc. It was

followed by KAMP a project designed for the girls. then we had given a task both on FBM & Surf Smart through Micro Teaching, we had to display learning through that spare of time, so it was interesting as well as bit difficult for us to cope up. The grand camp fire was organized on 15th evening. The participants have prepared cultural programme on the theme of Free Being Me, Stop the violence and Swachh Bharat

Sundar Bharat.

On 5th day Morning all the participants were participated in Swachh Bharat Mission Pro-gramme was organized at Ganganagar camp site. Take Action Plan session of Free Being Me was dealt by Mr. Bablu Goswami Regional Organizing Commissioner (Scout). after Closing Ceremony, Evaluation final talk and singing National Anthem. Participants left the venue with very sweet memories and enriched knowledge which may be used in their future life.

Miss Ruby Parbat Regional Organizing Commissioner (Guide), Eastern Region was leader of the Programme. The programme was conducted with the help of Shri Raj Kumar Prasad Gupta, Bihar Mrs. Madhu Jha, Eastern Railway and Mrs. Barsha Rani Panigrahi, & Miss Sulochana Mangeraj of Odisha State Association.

Open Group of Waltair District cleaned the statue of Swami Vivekananda

near Calvary Baptist Church. They also conducted a cleanliness drive near

DRM Office, Waltair. The cleaning programme was conducted under the

leadership of Smt. Nirmala Kumari, District Organizing Commissioner

(Guide), Waltair.

World Literacy Day:- On 08th September The Bharat Scouts & Guides, Dumka District Association of Jharkhand state organized awareness rally on the occasion of World Literacy

Day. The Rally was flagged off by District Education Officer Shri Dharmadeo Ray. Shri Harish Chandra Chowdhary, District Chief Commisioner, District officers and principal of different School were the witness of the programme. 400 hundred Scouts & Guides participated in the awareness rally under the leadership of Vijay Dubey, District Secretary.

East Coast Railway:- On 1st and 2nd October Free Being Me Programme was organized by the Khurda Road District Association in which 100 Scouts and Guides from HQOG and MHSS Group participated. The Free Being Me instructors Govind Panigrahi, Suvendu Mishra, Itishree Chottaray, Swarna Priya Das and Subhashree Mohapatra worked under the supervision of Smt. Ashraf Zamali, State Training Commissioner (Guide).

Eastern Railway:- Officers Colony Group Rover crew of Kancharapara District organised a cycle hike on promotion of Swachh Bharat Sunder Bharat abhiyaan from Kanchrapara to Dakhineswar from 03 to 04 September . 10 Rovers participated in this

District Association of Bihar state organized Peace Awareness Rally and sapling plantation on the occasion of International Peace Day. The A wareness Ra l l y wa s c o n d u c t e d u n d e r t h e leadership of Rajkishor Paswan , District Organizing Commissioner (Scout)

East Coast Railway:- International Peace Day was observed

by the Headquarters Open Group (HQOG) and East Coast Railway Mixed Higher Secondary School Group (ECoR-MHSS) 160 Scouts & Guides participated. They took the peace oath to spread peace in the society and slogans were displayed on World Peace Day. Central District conducted Candle March on the World Peace Day.

Eastern Railway:- The Bharat Scouts & Guides, Kancharapara District Association of Eastern Railway observed

International Day of Peace on 21st September. Glimpse of International Peace Day arround the Region

Odisha:- The Odisha State Bharat Scouts and Guides has observed the “International Day of

Peace” on 21st September State Headquarters, Bhubaneswar,

where 212 Scouts, Guides, Rovers and Rangers from all over

Bhubaneswar have participated in the observation with their unit

leaders. Hon’ble State Chief Commissioner Shri K.P. Mishra led the

Pledge and also flag off the Peace Run “ Trees for Peace” and

Youth Speech for Peace. Cubs, Bulbuls, Scouts, Guides and

Rovers, Rangers along with their unit leaders and non scout friends

have observed the Peace Day by taking Pledge to creat a better world, attended Peace Run,

Planted Trees and also done community services like cleaning market and public places, organizing blood donation camps etc.

West Bengal :- Rovers of Debiprasad

Rover Crew) celebrated the International Peace Day on 21 September. On this occasion they distributed new cloths to the street children of the slum areas in shyam Bazar locality, East Kolkata. They felt that children were very much needy from the others.

East Central Railway :- The Bharat Scouts & Guides, East Central Railway organized Basic Course for Guide Captain and Ranger Leader at European Colony , Mugalsarai from 26th September to 02nd October 2016. The Course wereconducted under the leadership of Smt. Barnali Ganguli and Smt. Papiya Bhattacharya of Eastern Railway with the

help of Smt. Mamta Kumari State Training Commis-sioner (Guide), and Gita Bhattacharya. 28 partici-pants were participated from Sonpur, Danapur, Dhanbad, Samastipur and Mugalsarai Devision.

South Eastern Railway:- On 17th to 24th September 2016

10 Scouts, 11 Guides 15 Rovers,08 Rangers and 06 leaders of Shivajee Group and Laxmibai Company of Bokaro District Association of South Eastern Railway organized cleaning programme at Bokaro Station, Adra and Giri Maidan Railway Station under Swachh Rail Swachh Bharat Abhiyaan. East Coast Railway :- Gandhiji and Shashtriji Jayanti – All Faith Prayer conducted by

Khurda Road District on the occasion of Gandhiji and Shastriji Jayanti at MHS School, khurda. in which 220 Scouts & Guides participated. After that, they went to DRM Office to take oath of Swachh Bharat with DRM Khurada. They also went to Khurda Railway Station to create aware-ness using slogans, placards and after that they cleaned park in Accounts Colony Khurda.

East Central Railway: - The Bharat Scouts & Guides, Dhanbad

District of East Central Railway Organized Cleaning Programme at Gomoh Railway Station under Swachh Rail Swachh Bharat abhi-yaan on 17th Sept. 30 Scouts & Guides participated in cleaning drive at the station area platform no 1, 2, and 3, outside of station, main entrance, and

reservation counter. They also organized public awareness with slogan and placket under the leadership of Shri Prajjwal Bhattacharya.
