We are making progress and moving forward. Check out the size of the corn, tomatoes, rhubarb, etc.. Much of our veggies at lunch are from our beautiful garden. Ongoing projects include the watering system for which the major components have been donated, but funds are needed for finishing supplies. The deer absolutely love our garden and have made themselves right at home so we need to get the fence project moving forward. We need small diameter metal fence posts and PVC pipe. If you have some to donate, please speak with Dave Werings. We would like to have both projects completed for next years garden.

On August 8, we took a short trip

up over the hill to the North

Plains “Fun Stinks” Elephant

Garlic Festival.

Booths featured many different

kinds of foods prepared with

garlic and many booths not only

had finished products to sell but

also the real, just harvested

bulbs loaded with little cloves.

On August 13, we went for a

grand tour of the MODA Center

facilities, including the locker

rooms. The Blazers have a very

nice but not elaborate locker

room while the visitors is bare

necessity.

Dave Bliss conducted our tour

and showed us many things that

are not on a regular tour, such

as a special look into the large,

well equipped kitchen that pre-

pares all the food served in the

facility whether in a private suite

or one of the restaurants.

Mr. Bliss conducts the writing

class here at the Center.
