Q2: AREAS OF SUCCESS What have you done well? I feel like I have been very flexible, as I committed my
time after school to finish filming. I contributed to the making of the storyboard, eg what shots to put in, which order the task was going to be shot in. I feel like I also helped towards choosing the right music, which fits in to the plot behind the task.
Finished versionOver all I would say the finished version was an overall
success. Through editing the shots fit together and flow, although there was one issue with continuity.
I changed my shoes during the production. Hopefully not many people noticed, oops.
Q2 CONTINUED Planning stage I thought the planning stage was quite useful, we were able to
access the camera’s according to when we needed to film. Although we didn’t book out the camera’s I’m sure we will need to for the main task. Also the storyboard helped us to visualise our idea’s, although we didn’t necessarily stick to all of them.
Time management Our time management was good as we met the deadline for the
task. We didn’t have time to film all our shots in lesson, as 50 minutes isn’t enough time to get 40 shots each time. Therefore we all had to compromise and stay behind after school to complete it. Also when editing, we often stayed in the media room at lunch to edit.
Group dynamic I think us 3 worked well as group, we stuck to our allocated roles
and didn’t argue about anything. I would like to work with Courtney and Niamh again for the main task, as us our preliminary task has turned out okay.
Q2 CONTINUEDEffective shots I think we used a variety of different shots in our preliminary task, here are some examples of the shots we used.
For the opening, we used a long shot to set the scene. The viewer can sense tension from this shot, as it looks like I’m following Courtney which I am. The shot shows distance between me and Courtney, which symbolises how we don’t know each over.
Furthermore for the shot on the left we used a low angle shot. We thought the lowshot of the shoe would look quite effective.
Q2 CONTINUED Effective shots continuedLastly when Courtney is running up the stairs, to show suspicion we used to a high angle shot; this is to show that something’s watching her. To achieve this angle we put the camera on the tripod and balanced it on the window ledge. (No camera’s were damaged during this process.
