letter from theco-chairsDear Delegates,

Estimated to be over two trillion dollars in size, the entertainment industry is one of the largest and most dynamic industries in the world. Despite this size, it has always remained mysterious and elusive, until now. QCEI is a premier student-run conference focused on the business and management behind this exciting industry. Being one of the first of its kind in Canada, QCEI will give you a new perspective on the entertainment content that we all love and consume. Our executive team has been working hard over the past year to give you one of the most memorable experiences of your university career. Please join us as we make history at Queen’s University and in Canada!

Throughout the weekend, you will get to learn about the many different facets of the entertainment industry. With representatives from the Film, Music, and Television industries, you are guaranteed to leave the conference with a new appreciation of the management behind this industry.

Our workshops will give you a taste of what it is like to work within this industry. Working together in teams, you will have the chance to apply your skills in project management, marketing, and business strategy, within an entertainment context. Experience for yourself the potential of a career in this thrilling industry.

With this year’s theme of “Inspiration”, our goal is to show you the possibilities of the entertainment industry. We hope you walk away from this conference with a newfound optimism that entertainment is a career path you are truly passionate about. With this discovery, all you have to do is pursue it with everything you’ve got, just like any other industry. We hope you’ll start that path here, through the connections you’ll make at this conference.

Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to the inaugural Queen’s Conference on the Entertainment Industry. The show is just getting started.

Best Regards,QCEI 2016 Co-Chairs
