ABOUT QSSFounded in 2013, the Queen’s Startup Summit is a rapidly growing initiative invested in preparing our generation for the changes in tomorrow’s business landscape. Our mission is to institution-alize a culture recognizing talent and passion that inspires and enables entrepreneurship.
The summit attracts budding young minds from various fields of discipline, provides the resourc-es required to excel, and ensures a vigorously competitive environment.
In partnership with the Queen’s School of Busi-ness, the Queen’s Faculty of Engineering and Applied Science, and the Queen’s Innovation Connector, we are impassioned to attract the very best young entrepreneurs Canada has to offer. By bringing together aspiring designers, developers, and startup enthusiasts, the summit encourages collaboration in an environment that fosters creativity and synergy.

why qss?EXCEPTIONAL PEOPLEThe summit hosts over 80 talented delegates from top institutions across Canada with di-verse expertise in engineering, computer sci-ence, business and design. The summit at-tracts leaders from various industries that act as judges, mentors and advisors for our dele-gates.
At the 2015 summit we hosted 100 spectators from various organizations and institutions and over 25 judges, mentors, advisors from top companies around the world.
UNIQUE FORMAT The format of the Queen’s Startup Summit is very fast-paced. The whole event expires in 54 hours - requiring delegates to brainstorm, incubate and prepare a launch-ready product all within that timeline. Pitches evolve quickly into visions, adapted by teams that work tire-lessly to materialize them into startups. QSS mentors, who are experts in their fields, assist teams along the way.
A panel of 6 esteemed judges determine the best startups of the summit and the 3 winning teams are then awarded funding to continue their ventures.
LASTING RELATIONSOur mission is to connect like-minded stu-dents with professionals and entrepreneurs from organizations across Canada and pro-vide the foundation for student innovation.
