Preface to the First Edition....There has been lot of progress in industry. However, India has not been able

to establish in the Reliability Engineering field due to sellers market conditions.Manufacturers have been able to sell products of whatever quality and reliabilitythey make.

Now, the situation is changing to competitive market as customer expectationis for goods of better quality and reliability. The quality and reliable goods areneed of the hour for company survival. Application of reliability engineeringconcepts leads to better firm survival. The quality and reliability is built in theproduct by the involvement of all the departments of the company including topmanagement. In view of this, working knowledge of basic concepts and reliabilityengineering practice is necessary for all executives, production supervisors,sales and personnel.

This book covers all essential quality control techniques needed for designers,engineers, manufacturing plants and service sectors.
