• The panel is attached to the framethough a external locking mecha-nism represented by a wedge(stopper) and frame exerting pres-sure evenly onto the and the sealattached to the frame, and hence abetter air tight cabinet construction. This unique design requires nowelding during assembly of theframework sections.

• The panel are of double wall con-struction and injected with foam in-sulation to provide a rigid sturdy andeasily cleaned enclosure.

• The Quantum XP is designed tosuit the technical requirement ofeach application.Design isspecially suitable forhealthcare, electronics, life-sciences andpharmaceuticals wherecondensation concerns exist, IAQrequirements abound and wherecleanable-flush interiors areneeded.

PanelThe panel are manufactured by injec-tion of polyurethane foam insulationbetween two metal skins to produce arigid and totally enclosed panel of50mm nominal thickness. This doublewall contruction keeps the insulationout of the air airstream and contributestowards improved indoor air quality. The panels are also easily cleanable. The insulating material is a two com-

ponent closed cell, rigid polyurethanefoam. A mechanical cam lockingmechanism, between panels with theadded reinforcement of internal rivetsallows air tightness compliance toEurovent Class L1.Insulating Material Specification: Ther-mal conductivity ‘K’ Factor = 0.02 W/mK.

Panel Thickness:Overall average panel nominal thick-ness shall be 50mm.

The exterior and inner wall’s panelcoating comes with a variety of choice• Standard offering: galvanized

prepainted exterior wall andgalvanized steel sheet on innerwall.

• Option: galvanized prepainted steelsheet on exterior and inner - wall.

General

Quantum XP air handling unit offerswide range of filters to meet air filtrationrequirement in various types of com-mercial and industrial air conditioningapplications. Filter type offered are:(a) Washable and throwaway type flat

filters(b) Bag and catridge type filters(c) Hepa filters(d) Carbon or gas filters, etc.

Flat Filter

a) Washable Filter

The filter media consist of selectedsynthetic fibers. An exclusive bondingtechnology provides the media withhigh numbers of fibers per squaremeter for a given weight. Its character-istics are relatively low resistance to airflow and a high dust holding capacity. The media can be cleaned.• in warm water (300 - 400C) with

addition of a household detergent ifnecessary. Drying should be doneon a flat surface.

• by blowing with compressed air inthe opposite direction of filter airflow.

High Efficiency Filter Section

a. Bag FilterThe filter is an extended surfacenonsupported pocket filter which offershigh efficiency, low resistance, com-pactness and unusual dust-holddingcapacity. When placed in ventilatingsystem, the pockets of the filtering me-dia inflate for maximum efficiency anddust holding capacity.

Filter efficiency is determined by thesize and quality of fibers per squareinch in each efficiency category. Themedia is manufactured to rigid specifi-cations that assure an extremely largeamount of dirt-catching surface area tocatch mircoscopic contaminants.

The exclusive pocket design allows ev-ery channel to fully inflate while main-taining the amount of space betweenpockets. Clean air can freely exit fromfront to back. Some manufacturer’s de-sign permit adjacent pockets to touchwhen inflated which signficantly re-duces dust holding capacity.

Each filter pocket is attached to a sup-port frame that fits into a U-channelheader. Each pocket support frame isthen mechanically fastened to the ad-jacent frame forming a rigid construc-tion. The positive locking arrangementforms an air tight seal and also virtuallyeliminates the possibility of pocketseparation from the header as resis-tance increase.b. Cartridge Filter

General DataFilters

The filters are ideally suited to variablevolume systems. Being totally rigid, performance is not affected bychanges in air velocity or fan shut-down, and their configuration is notaltered by accumulation of dirt. Highloft glass fiber media is laminated towhich provides positive support, opti-mizes dust holding capacity, and pre-cludes fiber emission, as compared toflat glass media.

All double wall fiber board contour sta-bilizers, diagonal support provide rigid-ity, durability, consistent integrity andperformance reliability throughout thefilter’s life.

The lofted media and exclusive radialpleats provide a high dust holding ca-pacity, extending the life of the filter. Thefilter will operate at air volumes consid-erably below rates velocity and capac-ity. Initial resistance is reduced, perfor-mance is improved and service life isextended.

The purpose of this section is to pro-vide the Quantum XP site installationconsideration. Refer to Installation, Op-eration and Maintenance manual fordetailed installation information. When selecting and preparing the unitsite, follow these guidelines:1. Ensure that the site can support the

total weight of the unit.2. Allow sufficient space for service ac-

cess. The below figure give the rec-ommended space allowances forfilters, coil removal, fan shaft re-moval and motor starter mainte-nance. As unit configurations willvary, refer to unit submittals for spe-cific location of access doors, ac-cessories, motor starter, etc.

3. Confirm that the foundation of the

Installation ConsiderationAnd Service Clearance

mounting platform is large enoughto include the unit dimensions plusservices access. Refer to unit sub-mittals for specific dimension. Cer-tain unit maybe suspended from theceiling. The recommended methodfor ceiling suspending air handler iswith structural channels that run thefull length of the unit. The factoryshall provide the support with an ex-ternal support at the base. Do notsuspend air handler from the top ofthe unit. Serious safety risks exist ifthe unit is not suspended in theproper manner.

4. The floor or foundation must belevel for proper coil drainage andcondensate flow.

5. Allow the proper height for coil pip-

ing and condensate drain require-ments. It may be necessary to el-evate the unit when piping the condensate drain. Insufficient heightcould inhibit condensate drainageand result in flooding the unit orequipment room.

6. Provide adequate lighting for main-tenance personnel to perform main-tenance duties.

7. Provide permanent power outlets inclose proximity of the unit for install-ation and maintenance.
