T H E D U K E O F E D I N B U R G H A R R I V E A T C A E R N A R V O N STATION, and are received by Her Majesty's Lieutenant for the County of Caernarvon (Colonel William Wynne Finch, M.C.) accompanied by Mrs. Wynne Finch.

A Royal Salute of twenty-one guns will be fired by 37 H.A.A. Regt. R.A. as Her Majesty descends from the Royal Train.

Her Majesty's Lieutenant will present the High Sheriff of Caernarvonshire (Joseph T. Jones, Esq.) and Mrs. Jones, and His Worship the Mayor of Caernarvon (Alderman William Hughes, J.P.), who will present the Mayoress (Mrs. W. Hughes).

The Mayoress will deliver a bouquet to Her Majesty.

The Mayor will present the Town Clerk of Caernarvon (W. Philip Davies, Esq.).

Her Majesty's Lieutenant will then present the Clerk of Lieutenancy (Gwilym T. Jones, Esq.), the Chief Constable of the Gwynedd Constabulary (Lieutenant-Colonel W. Jones Williams, O.B.E.), the Divisional Operating Superintendent of British Railways (H. F. Pallant, Esq.), and the District Operating Superintendent (F. H. Fisher, Esq.).

Her Majesty and His Royal Highness will walk to the Station Yard.

Her Majesty's Lieutenant will present Major-General E. M. Bastyan, c.B., C.B.E., G.O.C. Mid-West District and 53rd Welsh Division T.A. and Lieutenant-General Sir Hugh Stockwell, K.B.E., c.B., D.S.O., Colonel of the Royal Welch Fusiliers.

Her Majesty will be received with a Royal Salute by the Guard of Honour of the Royal Welch Fusiliers under the Command of Major H. G. Brougham.

Her Majesty will then inspect the Guard of Honour. 10.4 a.m.

Detachments from the Women's Royal Naval Service, Women's Royal Army Pay Corps, Women's Royal Air Force, will be drawn up in Station Square.

10.12 a.m. The Royal Car, preceded by the Chief Constable of Gwynedd in the police escort car, will leave the Station Square for the Castle, through Bangor Street, Bridge Street, Castle Square, Castle Ditch to the Water Gate.

) The Ceremony at the Water Gate

A fanfare of trumpets by Trumpeters on the King's Gate will herald the arrival of Her Majesty at the Water Gate.

The Equerry will knock and say, "I demand admission in the name of The Queen." The door will be opened and the Constable of the Castle (The Right Honourable Lord Harlech, K.G., P.C., G.C.M.G.) will descend the

steps carrying the key on an oak tray. The Constable will say, "Madam, I surrender the key of this castle into Your Majesty's hand." Her Majesty, touching the key, will reply, "Sir "Constable, I return the key of this castle into your keeping." The Constable will hand the key to the attendant.

Her Majesty will enter the castle and the Royal Standard will be broken on

the flagstaff on the Eagle Tower.

When the procession has entered the Lower Chamber of Eagle Tower, the door at the Water Gate will be closed, and the attendant will remain on duty

there whilst Her Majesty is in the castle.

The Constable of the Castle will present the Director for Wales of the

Ministry of Works (Geraint G. Walters, Esq.).

The Royal Procession along the Processional Way move forward to the Dais in the following order

10.35 a.m. The Queen and The Duke of Edinburgh will then be conducted by the Minister and the Constable to Queen Eleanor's Gate, followed by the others

in the Royal Procession.

On reaching the Gate, a fanfare will be sounded by Trumpeters on the battlements between the Watch Tower and the Queen's Gate.

Her Majesty and His Royal Highness will go unaccompanied on to the

balcony for a Ceremonial Appearance.

On Her Majesty's return from Queen Eleanor's Gate the Conductor of the

Choir, Madame Dilys Wynne Williams, will be presented.

The Queen and The Duke of Edinburgh, attended by the Minister in Attendance and the Constable, return to the Dais, the remaining persons in the Procession forming on the flanks of the Dais. Then, the Royal Marine Band and the Choir will play and sing, all present standing and joining in

the singing of the chorus:—

10.43 a.m. Her Majesty and His Royal Highness will then proceed along the Processional Way to the Eagle Tower, followed by the others in the Royal Procession,

in the same order as before.

10.45 a.m. The attendant will reopen the door at the Water Gate. The Constable and the Deputy Constable of the Castle will take leave of Her Majesty and His Royal Highness, who leave the castle by the Water Gate and enter the Royal car. Preceded by the police escort car, Her Majesty will drive via Castle Ditch, Bridge Street, Bangor Street, and thence through the County of Caernarvon via Port Dinorwic, Bangor, Llandegai, Aber, Llanfairfechan, Penmaenmawr, and Conway to the County boundary, where the Lord Lieutenant of the County will take leave of Her Majesty.
