Art in the Park:Picnic Table Edition

Th is year Youth Services was lucky enough to acquire funding to complete an art installation in Ryall Park. Youth staff worked in partnership with Queensborough youth to put together a proposal for a neighbourhood grant from Vancouver Foundation and was awarded a $1000! With the money they took two plain picnic table kits and transformed them into urban art. Th e tables spent the summer outside in the front lawn by the outdoor stage and the infamous piano. Th e youth involved in the project were able to share the experience with their families by using the tables throughout the summer. Th e community moved the tables around the park to fi ts their needs which included picnics, photoshoot, and lazing about in the sun. If you have not yet seen these creative art pieces head over to Ryall Park; summer is not over yet!
