Question 3- What Kind of Media institution might distribute your media product and why?

I think that 20th century FOX would be a good company to distribute my film due to the range of genres involved in each of their individual media

products. is an American film studio, distributor and one of the six conglomerate media companies. Located in the area of Los Angeles, just west

of Beverley Hills. I chose 20th Century FOX because they are a large company with a large audience, and therefore my film will be easily discovered.

Their filmsAs shown here, many of the films 20th Century FOX have previously distributed are the same/similar genre to mine during this time, evident since the recent release of “Gone Girl” there is a demand for films of this similar- this can be seen from the revenue of $368,056,223 from a budget of $61,000,000- compared to other films it shows that this genre already has a naturally large audience, which would be useful for my film. Furthermore, “projections”, is a drama, however through research it came apparent that they lacked films with a psychological aspect, and therefore I think my film would fit in nicely as it follows and challenges their normal type of films.

Why would it benefit me?I think that they have a solid audience that will be interested in

the film that I have produced, and would gain attention from both the younger and the older, more mature audience. Through exploration, I have discovered that they have distributed many

films similar to my own, and therefore I feel that Projections would fit comfortably into their portfolio. My film follows the

conventions of the films they distribute, such as frequent use of ambient lighting that is natural dark and dull.

20th century FOX presentsIn my opinion, silent hill is very similar to Projections. It focuses on a woman in search for her daughter

and gets lost and isolated from reality.
