What have you learnt about technologies from the process of constructing this product?

Microsoft word helped me through the process especially for my double page spread. This was because Photoshop doesn’t have spell check so writing it before hand then posting it on Photoshop helped to see whether I made any mistakes or not. If I made mistakes and not checked on Microsoft word, it would have affected my work and I would have to do it all over again

Photoshop helped me throughout the whole project as I learnt how to do different effects, crop out pictures accurately, I played around with many of the effects to see which one would work for certain things. For example, shadowing my masthead and changing the colours around as well as the font

I used PowerPoint to do my slide share for my evaluation and preliminary tasks. PowerPoint also helped me to organise my work and put it in order as well as make my work look neat as the pages are one after the other instead of all over the place. PowerPoint is also very useful as I was able to paste images on it, voice clips and videos of my work

Slide share helped me upload my PowerPoint onto blogger. Its very useful as you can also share it publically. It supports documents and videos as well. It helped improve my presentation skills and I learned that I could also sync mp3 audio with my slides and use it on my mobile device

I used a cannon DSLR to take my pictures. I specifically used this camera as the quality was very good and pictures are one of the most important for music magazines. I had different lenses for the camera for long shots. The cameras main lens had the option of zooming in and out and how I wanted the focus. There were also other options such as portrait, landscape, or whether I wanted flash or not

I also used a USB which was one of the most important devices. This helped me save all my images and work I had done so far in the project. I learnt that if I hadn't used a USB my work would have been lost or destroyed so it was a backup for any extra work and the work I had done so far

Internet explorer was also one of the main things I used when doing my media product. This was mainly because I done all my research, looking at other magazines, different analysis using the internet. I also used it to do most of my work as it was posted on blogger and I used websites such as slide share. I learnt that without internet explorer I would have taken longer to finish my work and everything would be unorganised

I found YouTube to be extremely helpful as I used it to look at tutorials if I needed to know anything for Photoshop. It was fast and I learnt new things quickly and applied it whenever it was needed. I also uploaded videos on YouTube for my evaluation as it was fast and had the options to put images, music and voiceover

iMovie helped me with my evaluation as I made short clips to put my work together. I found it was useful as there were a number of things that made my clips interesting for example I recorded my voice over an image. There were different effects such as dissolving and different types of fonts to make the clips look interesting. I worked around it by experimenting on different things and making a draft clip before hand
