The chassis is ready for tailor-made bodybuilding. The electrical and electronic systems are factory-prepared for bodybuilding.

The Volvo FL is powered by a 7-litre, 6-cylinder diesel engine featuring a single cylinder head, overhead camshaft and 4 valves per cylinder. The engine is turbocharged and features an intercooler. Its wide torque range and quick response to the accelerator ensures excellent driveability, making it an ideal engine for urban and regional distribution.
The engine offers highly efficient combustion, thanks to fuel injection with common rail technology and EMS (Electronic Engine Management). Together, this ensures extremely precise fuel injection. Owing to exhaust aftertreatment with SCR technology, the engine meets the ADR80/03 (Euro 5) engine emissions standard.

BRAKESThe Volvo FL has pneumatic brakes with ventilated discs both front and rear and large all-wheel disc brakes come as standard for improved safety and durability.
Safer BrakingVolvo’s industry-leading Electronic Braking System (EBS) provides instataneous braking response under all conditions. The system includes Hill Start Assist to reduce the risk of rolling back, Traction Control to improve drivability in slippery or uneven road conditions and, on truck and trailer combinations, Electronic Brake-force Distribution to help prevent jack-knifing and enhance stability.
Further options such Automatic Brake Compensation and Electronic Stability Program (ESP) are also available on some models.
ESP is safely-enhancing supplement to the truck’s electronic braking system. If the truck shows any tendancy to lose contact with the road surface, the brake system is automatically activated.

What is EEV?Enhanced Environmentally-friendly Vehicle or EEV is a voluntary code adopted in Europe and consists of a software upgrade that can be made to Euro 5 (mandatory) engines. EEV further reduces emissions of smoke and particulates.
It is available through our Australian factory or can be retrofitted by your local Volvo dealer.
