    Introduction

    Railway Cables

    Pengg Kabel GmbH is an Austrian cable manufacturer and a mem-ber of the german Wilms group with two plants in Styria. We havetwo sites, one in Kapfenberg where we produce copper cables andthe second in Wartberg where we are specialised on fiber opticcables and components. At the location in Kapfenberg-Eind wehave been producing railway cables for more than 40 years.

    In order to ensure the quality of our products and services and toimprove continuously the processes, we have already in the mid-nineties set up a quality management system according to EN ISO9001 which is certified by an accredited body.

    With our production equipment we are able to produce all usualkinds of stranding such as layer-stranding, SZ-stranding and ran-dom stranding. On this basis, we are able to produce the main typesof railway and telecommunication cables.

    Telecommunication cables:

    conductor diameter 0,4 mm up to 1,8 mmsymmetric local and district cablessymmetric indoor cablesall types of jumper wires according to national and international

    standards and/or customers specifications.

    Differential protection cables:conductor diameter 0,4 mm and 1,8 mm

    Cables for watersupply- as well as for power-supply companies:with pairs, triples or quadsspecial filling materialsdifferent kinds of electrical shielding

    Control cables for railway applications, special cables:with plastic insulationwith cores, pairs or quadsspare cables in plastic version for paper-lead cables

    Flexibility and customer proximity are the bases for a successfuldevelopment on the market. New developments and product impro-vements are always necessary. Apart of the permanent search forimprovements of our products, our efforts for the future run towardsreduction of production time, increase of flexibility and constantimprovement of quality, in order to be a reliable partner for our custo-mers.
