StartUp NC Weekend for Aspiring Entrepreneurs Forty-eight hours to launch! Friday at 6:00PM through Sunday at 6:00PM, we are hosting a business startup weekend co-sponsored by Teaming for Technology to explore business concepts to launch. The weekend will be a great networking opportunity focused on working together to learn how to quickly get a business up and running. Seeking entrepreneurial mindset, techies, volunteers, team members, business coaches, food donations, hospitality helpers and more! Cost is $25 donation to StepUp. We are gathering creative minds interested in collaborating to profitably address the global problem of excessive E-Waste. We see opportunity. Our team of judges include Steve Swayne, Tom Everly, Deb Oronzio & Norm Wood.
What happens to old electronic equipment— and why does it matter? Some is refurbished. However, only a small percentage is recycled. This competition event is a small experiment with the potential for global ramifications, business startups and real profit.

Solve the global problem of excessive e-waste polluting the world’s environment by developing a profitable process, service, or product from discarded electronics.
All kinds of minds, skills and backgrounds welcomed.
Emphasis is on reduction of waste stream: computer desktops, laptops, monitors, keyboards, printers.
Each team’s work product will be “on loan” to us for potential public display (gallery) for a period of 60 days.
