Ramara Wall of Fame Committee

Terms of Reference

The Wall of Fame is to recognize and showcase the talents, values and contributions of permanent, seasonal or temporary residents within the boundaries of Ramara Township whether the recognition be regional, national, international or historically in the building of the township.

Terms of Reference:

• The Wall of Fame Committee shall be comprised of five (5) members at large and one (1) member of council. Members must be residents within the boundaries of Ramara Township.

• Members will be appointed by Council and shall serve for the term of council.

• The Wall of Fame Committee shall meet twice (2) a year or more often at the discression of the chair, depending on nominations received that year ..

• The Ramara Wall of Fame Committee will receive nominations and make a maximum recomendation of 3 nominees to Council, (unless a group which will be treated as one).

• The inductee presentations and ceremonies will be made at a Council meeting.

• Induction presentations and ceremonies will be held annually, at a date and time set in that year.

• The ceremony and program for the induction shall be planned and organized by the Ramara Wall of Fame Committee.

Criteria:

• The inductee(s) have received regional, national and/or international recognition in his/her field of endeavor. The recognition may have been a special award, prominent position, dissemination of work, philanthropy, etc., and /or should have resided in Ramara or surrounding area, prior to the recognition.

• And the inductee(s) must have made a substantial impact on, or brought recognition to any community within the boundaries of Ramara Township and its citizens.

• The inductee(s) can be inducted into the Wall of Fame posthumously. In such instances, the family of the nominee must (where possible) consent to the submission.

Criteria Exceptions for Historical Inductees

• The only exceptions to the above criteria requirements, as written, will be: inclusion of Historical inductee(s). He or she must have historically contributed to the building of the

community/communities within the boundaries of the Township of Ramara.

• Complete the attached nomination form. Ensure all areas are completed.

• Attach a letter(s) of support, explaining why your nominee is worthy of Wall of Fame consideration.

• Provide any additional material to support this nomination (publications, photos, etc.)

• Deadline for nominations this year, is Monday, August 18, 2014

In accordance with the Municipal Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act, any personal information that is collected is done so under the authority of the Municipal Act, S.O. 2001, c/25 and will be used to determine recipients of the Wall of Fame as issued by the Wall of Fame Committee of the Township of Ramara. Please Note: All applications become the property of the Corporation of the Township of Ramara - No applications will be returned. Nomination packages of successful inductees will be kept for Township Archives. The names of the nominees that are not inducted into the wall of Fame, will not be announced and shall remain confidential. The ownership of the Wall of Fame will remain with the Township of Ramara.

A ward Presentation

In 2014 the presentation ceremonies will take place Monday, September 22, 2014- 6:00p.m. at the Township Administration Building, in the Council Chambers.

Future Wall of Fame inductions will be annually and are based on quality of applications rather than quantity. The committee will organize an induction ceremony and give notice as to when the ceremony will occur.
