SOCKET CAP SCREWSocket head cap screws are designed to be used with the head protruding or counter bored. They should be used where high strength and ease of installation are required.

SOCKET COUNTERSUNK SCREWFlat socket head cap screws are designed for use in applications where the head cannot protrude above the mating parts. They are set in countersunk holes and the top of the head is �ush with the surface of the assembly.

SOCKET DOME SCREWSocket dome screws are designed for applications that allow the head to protrude above the mating parts. The curved design of the dome head is decorative and protects adjoining parts from scrapes or other damage. The greater underhead area also protects mating parts from damage.

SOCKET DOME FLANGE SCREWWorks in the same way as the regular socket dome screw but with the addition of a greater underhead bearing surface which eliminates the need for washers and helps prevent damage such as indentation to the mating part.

SOCKET SET SCREWSocket set screws are designed to be used where permanent or adjustable locations of components on shafts is required.

SOCKET SHOULDER SCREWThe shoulder on these parts allow them to be used in applications where mating parts need to be adjusted, slid or pivoted without removing the fastener.

METALMATE® MACHINE SCREWSA machine screw consists of a threaded piece of wire or rod with a head on one end for driving used in conjunction with a nut or tapped hole of the equivalent size.Machine screws are one of the simplest, oldest and cheapest methods of joining two parts together. They allow the parts to be separated without damage to either part.

BENEFITS OF USING A POZIDRIV HEADThe Pozidriv recess has vertical driving faces, the great advantage of which is that ‘cam-out’ is eliminated. Resulting bene�ts are:

1. No recess damage during driving, which facilitates full tightening and lessens the hazard of loose screws in assembly. Higher torques can be applied and tighter joints obtained, while screws can be easily removed, lessening service problems.

2. Reduced damage to work since the driver stays put in the recess at all times and will not slip out accidentally.

3. Reduced driver damage gives increased driver life and helps to reduce assembly costs.

4. Reduced operator fatigue because negligible end-load is required to keep the driver in the recess and operators thus remain fresh to increase their work output.

5. Alignment is easier due to the positive engagement of the Pozidriv recess and the driver. This results in greater control in driving screws from di�icult angles. At the same time the speed of driving is increased.

GALVANISED RANGE



Our newly extended range of galvanised products oers customers a wider choice. The products have an outstanding level of resistance, a greater reliability factor and are maintenance free. Our galvanising is 45 to 55 microns thick and provides great protection.

Galvanising preserves the external and internal within hollow sections. It is self-repairing; protects the base metal; environmentally sustainable; has good impact and abrasion- resistance; and is maintenance-free for up to 20-25 years. Galvanised steel is widely used in applications where corrosion protection is needed and can easily be identi ed by the crystallised pattern on the surface.

BENEFITS OF USING GALVANISED PRODUCTS1. Long Life - Galvanised products protect

against corrosion and prolong the life of steel, greatly lowering the environmental and economic cost.

2. Recyclable - Whether for re-galvanising, removal or reuse, galvanised steel is easily recycled. It can also be recycled with steel scrap.

3. Sacri cial Protection - At the point where the galvanised steel suers damage, a galvanic cell is formed. The zinc around the point of damage corrodes. BENEFITS OF USING BRASS PRODUCTSBrass fasteners are used for their physical and aesthetic properties. Brass is used due to its high thermal conductivity and corrosion resistant properties; it is suitable for use in hot or cold environments and resistant to water.

Brass is an alloy made of copper and zinc. It is a material that gets used in a wide range of applications.

Brass is used for its low-friction properties in applications like plumbing and electrical work, gears, bearings and much more.

Brass fasteners are commonly used with wood applications as the golden colouring blends well with tan wood.

For decades brass screws have been used on marine equipment. The anti-corrosive and water resistant properties of brass make these fasteners ideal for external use, by the sea or underwater.

Brass is a softer metal and must be used with care. Always pre-drill holes before using brass screws or bolts to prevent stripping.

BENEFITS OF USING NYLON PRODUCTSNylon fasteners now provide a viable alternative to traditional metal fastening in a number of applications. Nylon fasteners secure metal components together in manufacturing and electronic applications and have a comparable tensile strength and temperature resistance.

Nylon is a non-conductor as it is a type of plastic and cannot conduct electricity. This property makes nylon highly preferable for connecting insulation and uses in electronic devices.

Nylon is known to provide a high level of insulation but it is not ideal for applications that regularly experience higher temperatures such as ovens.

Resistant to corrosion, nylon fasteners will not weaken due to corrosion and fatigue; rust or become damaged from solvents and lubricants.

Nylon fasteners have a noticeable lighter weight than other metal fasteners and are less likely to wear and loosen over time.

Nylon fasteners should not be used in applications in or around water or moisture as the material can swell and become brittle.
