Quality – the basis of confidence

Schorch Elektrische Maschinen und Antriebe GmbH has

introduced a Quality Assurance System in accordance with

DIN EN ISO 9001. This was confirmed by DQS for the first

time in 1993.

In March 1999, Schorch was certified as a manufacturer of

three-phase asynchronous machines to type of protection

Increased Safety ’EExe’, Flameproof Enclosure ’EExd’, and

Pressurized Apparatus ’EExp’ by a PTB certification audit.

In July 2001, our Quality Assurance System was certified

by DQS again, this time in accordance with the new DIN

EN ISO 9001 (Issue 12.2000).

Since the foundation of the company in 1882, the name

SCHORCH has always stood for high-quality electrical

machines. With numerous drive systems and installations

supplied worldwide, SCHORCH is the competent partner

for your international projects.

SCHORCH is a modern, market-oriented supplier of a

variety of industries, e. g. the chemical/petrochemical

industry, power generation and distribution, water supply

and waste water industry, metal producing and processing

industry, etc. This means that our products have to meet

the requirements of a wide range of applications in view of

both quality and reliability.

We supply asynchronous machines with outputs up to

25,000 kW. Our range also includes the design and supply

of complete drive systems and installations, and a

comprehensive service.

On request, we supply motors from our production range

with AEG-rating plates.

Our aim is the design and construction of state-of-the-art

products which meet all economical, technical and eco-

logical requirements.

Our machines, drive systems and installations are

characterised by innovative technology combined with the

highest possible quality standard. The quality of our

products is certified to EN ISO 9001. Our strength is,

however, not only technical quality – based on more than a

century’s company tradition – but also a well-founded

competence in designing and planning, the sum total of the

abilities of our highly skilled and motivated workforce.

Electrical Machines, Drive Systems and System Engineering

We supply internally and surface-ventilated low-voltage

cage induction machines in standard and special designs.

Our machines are characterised by high efficiency, low

noise level, reliability and ease of maintenance.

The use of paint systems with long-term corrosion protection

renders these machines suitable for almost any application.

Available for indoor and outdoor installation to various

degrees and types of protection. These machines are

characterised by high efficiency and low noise level, and

are fitted with short-circuit and shatterproof terminal boxes.

Windings are insulated, using the well-known VPI system.

By means of various attachments, these machines can be

adapted to almost any application. Designs for difficult and

severe site and operating conditions, both conventional

and explosion-protected, are also available.

The range includes surface-ventilated motors with ribbed

frame, tube-cooled and modular design motors, all of

which are available with the customary cooling methods

and degrees of protection. In the development of these

motors special emphasis was laid on high efficiencies, low

noise and vibration levels, ease of maintenance and long

service life. This is ensured by a sturdy design with a high

degree of adaptability to various applications.

High-voltage asynchronous machines

1) Surface-ventilated motor with ribbedframe (IP55) from 200 kW to 2,000 kW,

for voltages up to 11 kV.

2) Motor, 600 kW, 6.3 kV, 996 rpm,IP55, IM B3, driving a flue gas

recirculating blower in a CHP plant.

Our three-phase high-voltage machines with integral air-/air

tube-type heat exchanger – either with squirrel-cage or with

slipring rotor – are suitable for a wide variety of applicati-

ons.

Design and construction are the result of decades of

co-operation with leading machine manufacturers,

engineering companies and users.

Our current frequency converters are designed for con-

tinuous, low-loss speed control of three-phase motors and

form together with the motor a variable-speed drive system.

The use of state-of-the-art digital electronics leads to

precise speed control and a comfortable commissioning,

diagnosis, display, signalling, operation and fault memory.

Communication with PLC and higher-level automation

systems is given via serial interfaces.
