Ranger’s ApprenticeBook Two: Burning Bridge

Characters Gilan: He is a full Ranger who was once Halt’s apprentice. At one time he

was a Knight’s Apprentice. He is one of the only Rangers to use a sword. All of the Rangers are spies and warriors for King Duncan who is the ruler of Araluen. He is my favorite character in the book. (Good guy)

Will : An orphan who becomes a Ranger’s Apprentice of Halt. He wanted to go to battle school to become a Knight’s Apprentice but he was denied. He is the main character of the book. (Good guy)

Horace: He is a Knight’s Apprentice who is one of Will’s friends. He was the only one to escape when Will and Evanlyn were captured. (Good guy)

Evanlyn: She is a Princess under cover. Her real name is Cassandra. She is the daughter of King Duncan. (Good girl)

Halt: The teacher once of Gilan and now the teacher of Will. He gets angry very easily. (Good guy)

Morgarath: He is the evil Lord who rules over the Mountains of Night and Rain. He has recruited an army of half human half beast warriors called Wargals. (Bad guy)

Setting

This book takes place in Medieval times in the cities Celtica in the Kingdom of Araluen.

It takes place at a castle called Redmont (Ruled by King Duncan). It also takes place all over King Duncan’s land.

Problem

Problem number 1Morgarath is creating a gigantic bridge to get his army across the mountains. He’s planning a secret ambush to take over the Kingdom of Araluen. So the dedicated Rangers are going to have to stop them.

Problem number 2Will and Evanlyn are captured by Scadandians who work for Lord Morganroth.

Solution

Solution to problem 1Will, Horace, and Evanlyn decide to burn the bridge by using Will’s flint to stop the ambush of Lord Morgarath’s army.

Solution problem 2 Halt is not able to save the two of them. Read Book Three to find out how this problem is solved.
