The RapidEye System can collectimagery in FIVE spectral bands

Blue

Green

Red

Near Infrared

Red-Edge

Plants have spectral signatures which can be identified with those 5 bands

RapidEye is the first commercial system offering the Red-Edge band

The combination of these five spectral bands is ideally suited to monitorvegetation conditions and to detect growth anomalies

Two levels of RapidEye Image Products are available:

1B, or Basic; radiometric sensor corrections applied, on-board spacecraft

attitude and ephemeris used for geolocation

3A, or Ortho; radiometric and sensor corrections applied, orthorectified

with DTED Level 1 or better, best available ground control, tiled in 25x25

km based on UTM grid

Standard Image Products

Ortho Production

RapidEye ground segment can ortho 2 million sq km of data per day

Continuous throughput system

No time delay on delivery

Uses library of GCPs

Alternatively

Purchasing agency receives Level 1 data and does own ortho-rectification

Classified Projects

RapidEye has partnerships and is developing partnerships with

several international firms that operate in the Defense and

Intelligence world that can provide products and services

derived from RapidEye data to meet your classified and

sensitive requirements.

Our United States Partners

Spatial Energy provides imagery solutions, hosting, and

analysis specifically created for the energy sector

MapMart is a leading on-line distributor of imagery and

geospatial products from multiple sources, as well as

providing photogrammetry and image processing

MDA Federal provides advanced geospatial services

and solutions utilizing a variety of data sources and

methods

21CSI is a leading processor and distributor of synthetic

aperture radar (SAR) and Electro-optical (EO) satellite

products, services, and training

Key Points:

RapidEye is the only commercial satellite provider with broad area, repeat coverage in 5

spectral bands

The RapidEye system can image any spot in the world daily

The capacity for collection is up to 4 million square kilometers per day

Five meter image resolution can satisfy nearly half of the traditional intelligence requirements

Red edge and near IR bands are optimized for crop identification and monitoring

Broad-area change detection with results having real intelligence potential is now possible

Imagery can be shared with coalition forces worldwide

Challenges . . . . .

Gaining market awareness and subsequent market share

Short term data sales, long term product and solution integration

Development of automated change detection over broad areas

Better sensors do not always mean a shortened decision cycle

Recurring, broad area mapping in a system already awash with data
