Gaming, my life

Gaming is the kind of profession which attracts a wide Diaspora of people from all walks of life.

It began as a fun way to kill time as an adolescent which quickly turned into a passion and

subsequently my choice as a profession in my adult life. From my earliest days of gaming I was

fascinated by how games were made. This fascination became my passion and in my 12th grade

I became a regular at gaming cafes which were part of a large chain of the Reliance group

conglomerate, a pioneer in gaming, it was the first to start gaming cafes all over India. I had

approximately six months of free time after my 12th grade, before I enrolled myself into a

professional degree course. It was during this time that I began gaming seriously and I had the

opportunity to play at the national level. Those six months of focused gaming taught me

valuable qualities that would lead me to where I am today, qualities such as teamwork,

dedication, leadership qualities etc. Plus the chance to virtually combat my friends and peers

was too tempting to let up.

I have tremendous interest in gaming and have played games like Counter Strike, Dota, Age of

mythology at the national level and have won various trophies. The number of hours that I

dedicated in perfecting my game play was close to fifteen hours a day. This was testament to

my passion. In my youth, I was well on my way to realising my dream and ambition in life.

However much like a frog in the pond I was unaware of how large and bustling the gaming

industry was worldwide.

I chose a professional degree in commerce and later pursued a professional degree in gaming

from a prestigious university. This was a turning point for me as my current institute opened up

my mind to concepts related to gaming previously unknown to me. During my days as a

commerce student I would often research topics about game development and write extensive

articles and reviews on many games belonging to various genres. These reviews were published

on many community gaming sites one was which was floated by my friends and me. In addition

to this I have always had a knack at coming up with new, innovative and interesting ideas that I

hope would one day bring great joy to the same gaming community and bring my efforts to

light.

All through the years that I studied commerce It became more and more apparent to me that a

career in gaming was the right choice to make post my commerce degree. A good example of

where this though process came is the fact that I would spend hours upon hours pondering on

game ideas and not my commerce course. It was these hours of pondering that now aide me as

a student of my favourite subject.

As soon as I completed my degree, I got myself enrolled for a graduate diploma in “Beta­Maya”.

This course offered me remarkable in depth knowledge about game development as a career. It

introduced me to a new and exciting world known as animation. I was highly motivated and

overwhelmed by its magnitude and capabilities. Animation opened up new doors for me into

the more distinct sectors of graphic animation, level and character modelling and texturing. This

helped me specialize in a select line of work that I found interesting. After a lot of research

online I found out that Sae Singapore was offering a two year degree program in animation and I

enrolled myself for the course. In my first year at Sae I have learned all the important 2D and 3D

software’s that are currently being used in the animation industry and I have also learnt a lot

about how the gaming industry functions. This diploma program has provided me with almost

all the skills I require to become a good animator.

My quest for gaming evolved day after day even in my busy schedule of classes, I opted to work

part­time for a game development company named “FXlabs” as a Quality Analysis tester while

doing my graduate diploma in India. I was working with a testing software called “JIRA” and I

had projects to test from all sectors like the programming team, the modelling team, the

animation team, the sound team and the lighting team. After finishing my first year at Sae I had

done an internship for forty five days in a game development studio in India. This studio was

making games for the Sony play station and the Xbox 360 platforms. The company was creating

a game called SnS and had me working on the game production team. I was given the task to

balance the entire game in all the single player missions and I had to come up with my own

ideas to balance of the game. The experience gave me real insight in to the amount of hard

work and precise elements that go in to developing a game.

Now, that I have played games at national level and also worked in a gaming company in India, I

decided to pursue Degree in game development & animation. This would help to perfect my skill

set and provide me with an incredible learning experience from an internationally reputed

institute. My enthusiasm as a student and creativity has helped me to become a good student

here and helped me to share my ideas with my fellow students and learn from them too.

In conclusion, although my beginnings in the gaming field where humble and modest, after

equipping myself with knowledge I hope to be destined for much greater and brighter prospects

and a young boys dream can finally be realised.

Art of War League

I have started organizing a series of online tournaments to help and improve the E­Sports

scenario in India. The first tournament I organized got good reviews from all the players and I

will organize more events with more number of games in the future. I am currently looking for

sponsors for this event, or collaboration with one of the game event organization companies.

Starcraft 2 custom map creation

I have created a few custom practice maps for the game Starcraft 2 using the Galaxy level editor

provided by blizzard. The practice maps I created were targeted towards a specific audience. My

target audiences for these maps were the new players who wanted to improve and reach a

professional level in the game. I have posted the videos of these maps in Youtube and also

posted them in Team Liquid. These maps have also been put up in the map list in Starcraft 2

North American region.

Overview

The focus for Baby Sumos is to create a game play experience like no other. Something

innovative and interesting, while still providing a unique experience that player can immerse

themselves in. We want the fundamental feel of the game to be deep and irresistible.

Baby Sumos will consist of ten characters for the user to choose from. There are going to be 5

human characters, 2 mystical creatures, 2 sci­fi creatures and 1 animal. The human characters

will be representing 5 different human races. The mystical creatures will be an ogre and a troll

Cyclops. The 2 sci­fi creatures will be an alien and a robot. The animal will be a panda. This will

give users a wide range of characters to choose from. They can pick the character to which they

can relate themselves too.

Baby Sumos is going be a multi player game with a single player option for ages from 9 and up.

Its simplistic control scheme allows players to quickly pick up the game. The game is going to be

created for the I Phone platform initially and if the game is successful it will be developed for

android users also.

Baby Sumos will take its users on a cute and epic sumoing experience that will resonate long

after they have finished playing.

Nija (Indian) – One of the last surviving practitioners of an ancient and long lost wrestling art

form. The championship is the perfect place for him to show the world the greatness of his form

Albin (Latino) – Ex­Mambo dancer with all the right moves. After pushing his partners off the

stage repeatedly, decided sumo is the right career for him

Character Statistics

Power – The power of the character will be determined by his strength.

Agility – The characters speed and his dodge ratio will be dependent on his agility.

Stamina – The amount of time a character can last in the ring will be determined by his

stamina

All the ten characters will be given these statistics in such a way that all of them are equally

balance and are unique in there fighting ability.

For example when a character with a lot of strength fights with a character with high agility,

the first character punch will do more damage but the 2nd character will be able to dodge

his punches more effectively then the first character.

Levels

The game will consist of 11 levels. Every character will have one specific localised level

according to their personality. All the levels will be created using Photoshop and will be 2D.

All the levels have been created like drawings from a kids sketch book. We wanted the levels

to be very childish and at the same represent the characters uniqueness. A Sumo ring has

been added to every level, all the fights will take place only in the Sumo ring.

African Level – The level has been designed like a small African tribal area. The houses and

the cactus have been added to the background to give an African desert feeling.

Alien Level ­ This level has been designed in outer space. The Sumo ring has been placed on

a far off planet from Earth. The background consists of a blurry image of Earth and a few

stars to give the user a sci­fi feeling.

Asian Level – As the Asian sumo wrestlers has been forced to train since his birth and become a

sumo wrestling champion, we designed the level accordingly. The background consists of a

sumo training house in Japan.

White Level – The white sumo wrestlers comes from a very rich family and is just entering the

sumo wrestling world as it will give him an adrenaline rush. The background of the level is his

Troll Cyclops – The Cyclops lives alone in a cave saving up all his energy for his sumo games.

entered this competition to make some money and save his village from poverty.

has been converted to a sumo ring. With the help of this he can intimidate his opponents and

Panda Level – The level has been designed to show the natural characteristics of a Panda. The

background is designed to show a waterfall between bamboo trees as this Panda is from the

great land of China.

Ogre Level – The ogre is always confused and lost in the woods. He has spent all his life in this

forest; he knows that no one can win a game against him in this forest. The back ground of this

forest has been designed to show the real personality of the ogre.

Robot Level - The background of the levels shows the past life of the robot. A few days after his

creation he was broken down into pieces and thrown away into the garbage. The level has been

designed so that the Robot can look at his past and show all his anger in the sumo ring.

Yokozuna Level – The grandest stage of all. Whenever Yokozuna enters the ring everyone

goes crazy for him. All the other sumo wrestlers dream of fighting him over here and taking

the sumo world championship title away from him.

Game modes

The game will consist of three game modes ­

Tournament – The user can choose from one of the 10 characters. After he chooses a

character he will be put up against the nine fighters one by one. The fighting sequence for

each character has been design differently according to their statistics. After the user wins

all his 9 matches he will have to fight with the Yokozuna. The difficulty level of the user’s

opponents will increase every fight.

Single player – The user can choose any one of the 10 characters and he can also choose

anyone from the 10 characters as his opponent. He can play as many times as he wants here

to practice for the tournament mode.

Multi player – With the help of Bluetooth function users can connect with other’s IOS

devices to play against each other. In the multiplayer mode the user will be given an option

to choose from all the 10 characters and the user can also choose his/her desired level.

Game play and Controls

The user will be given 3 buttons to play the game. These buttons will be placed at the

bottom of the screen. The button R will be placed at the bottom right hand side of the

screen and with the help of this button the user can do right hand attack moves. The button

L will be at the bottom left hand side of the screen and with the help of this button the user

will be able to use left hand attacks. There will be a button called S at the bottom centre of

the screen. With the help of this button the user can use the characters special ability. The

special ability of the character can only be used when the opponent’s health is at 5%. If the

user does not use the special ability to finish of his opponent at the exact time, the

opponent can come back by giving the user a couple of punches. The users can use only

their hands to attack no special weapons will be provided to them. The bar at the top of the

screen shows how much distance is left from the edge of the sumo ring. The user will only

win the game when his opponent has stepped out of the sumo ring.

Technical

Game Physics

The game emulates real life like physics as it features human like characters. The game

functions using COCOS 2D framework’s default integrated physics engines called BOX2D and

COCOS Physics Engine. The characters have strength attribute allotted to their combat moves,

so each character has different amount of strength in a push and the result of each push also

varies according to the player strength. As if a character is weak the effect of a stronger

character’s push will be more effective as compared to a push on any other stronger character.

Artificial Intelligence

The attributes assigned to each character varies depending on the strength of the character.

Even the strength varies depending on the character’s preferred combat hand, as some left

handed characters will have a stronger left handed attack when compared to their right hand

attacks. In the single player match the AI of the opponent character may vary on the difficulty

level chosen by player. An easy AI will do random attacks but may be easier to defeat as they

take some time to recover after every attack. A medium level AI would be balanced and be a

proper match for the player and the player might have to break a sweat to defeat this level of

opponent. The Hard level AI would have an unfair advantage over the player with increased

damage and speed of attack. In the Tournament mode the player has no choice in difficulty level

as there is a default progressive difficulty with every victory, as the player starts from facing

weaker AI, making it all the way to ultimately facing the Boss level AI with perfect attributes.

Visuals and Sound

Art Style

Baby Sumos has an emphasis on the cuteness of the characters. All the characters have been

designed to look as cute as they can. The characters have been designed according to where

they come from and their past life stories. All the levels have been designed to resemble the

personality of the characters. The colour combinations have been used to set the mood of the

user to a peaceful and fun mood.

Mood

The game closely reflects the mood of the user. The game will get the user into a happy mood.

The game will act as a stress buster. The characters, levels and the colours have been used to

make sure the game relieves stress from users.

Resolution

The game will run at 1080p and be locked at 60fps. With the frame size of the primary IOS

device fixed at 480 pixels X 320 pixels. The graphics displayed are in High Definition thanks to

Apple’s use of Retina technology in the Display of the IOS devices, which enhance the brightness

and contrast of the default graphics of the applications.

OVERVIEW

The focus for Twisted Fate is to create a game play experience like no other. Something

innovative and interesting, while still providing a unique universe that player can immerse

themselves in. We want the fundamental feel of the game to be deep and irresistible. The game

appeals to all and is a strong portrayal of feminism.

Nora is the name of the character you play. The game takes place in the world made­up of eight

distinct elemental villages. Fighters power up their elemental powers and battle to defend their

honor and village. Players take up the role of Nora in third person view, and guide her through

the epic journey and fight her way through evil that are haunting from her past.

Nora is the lone surviving shadow fighter in the world who is on her way to becoming a legend

and restoring her village by beating the one who destroyed it. In this 3D action adventure RPG

game, players will jump, crouch, fight, kill, use elemental powers, defeating elite fighters and

epic scale bosses. As players progress they will be rewarded with amazing new abilities, power

ups and even be able to access many new lethal weapons.

Twisted Fate is a single player game for people ages 18 and up. Its simplistic control scheme

allows players to quickly pick up the game, but later parts of the game provide both challenging

fast paced action and even stronger enemies. One of the main appeals of Twisted Fate is the

versatility and the dark story of the main character, Nora. Twisted Fate draws inspiration from

games such as Heavenly Sword, The God of War saga and Devil May Cry series.

With the rising popularity of the Sony Playstation franchise, the game is targeted for those

Playstation fans. Twisted Fate is created for the Sony Playstation 3 as this best suit the intended

target market. This choice is justified by the fact that the game is best played with the flexibility

and effectiveness of the Six­axis and Analog Stick 3 controller for Playstation 3.The gaming

experience is enhanced with the effectiveness and High­Definition of Playstation 3.

The game will feature the look and the feel of a next generation game with pre­calculated

physics simulations and modern rendering techniques that use cube mapping as opposed to

real­time creation. With this combination of addictive game play coupled with satisfying, unique

and responsive action, Twisted Fate presents a unique and intense world that takes players on

an epic adventure that will resonate long after they have finished playing.

STORY

Tensions intensified between the great eight villages of Fire, earth, water, wind, lightning,

sound, light and shadow, due to the random murders in the villages. To discuss this issue, the

Elite leader of each village gathered in a secret place. The leader of Shadow village was targeted,

as other leaders suspected the mass murderer to be one of the mystical shadow arts users, as

the Shadow village was the least affected by the murders. Out of the blues a mysterious and

strong warrior named Asura made an announcement to the Leaders that he would find and

destroy the murderer but in return would take over as the new leader of the murderer’s village.

It was a gamble no leader was willing to play, by putting the future of their villages on the line.

Therefore the leaders decided to decline the offer and said that “Better lose the village fighting,

than lose it to a gamble”. Asura left laughing and the leaders were soon quarreling and blaming

each other, therefore initiating The Great War between the eight villages.

The war soon intensified, elite warriors and legends fought and died for their villages, but there

was no sign of the war stopping. Meanwhile the mysterious serial killing in the villages

continued. Therefore all the leaders other than the Shadow village leader confronted Asura. The

shadow village leader’s absence raised questions and suspicion towards the shadow village.

Asura claims to have encountered the murderer and claiming it to be a Shadow villager and that

all of it was plotted by the Shadow village. Hearing this leaders accepted Asura’s terms and

offer, he guaranteed the death of the murderer and the end of the Great War by end of the

shadow.

The same night in the shadow village, the Elite village leader’s 5 years old daughter Nora was

being cured from a fatal disease. That being the reason for the absence of the shadow village

leader, from the meeting with Asura. Nora was successfully cured and the village rejoiced this

news that night. Next day the villagers saw the inevitable, Asura and his men had invaded the

shadow village. The tribe fought back with everything they had but many brave courageous

men and women fell. Their bodies were never given any respect and were just lying there. The

battle was long and devastating. It had made the beautiful land look like a graveyard. As every

second passed by the surviving villagers could feel death approaching them. The leader wanted

to keep Nora, his daughter safe so he tied her to a horse and let the horse escape. And the elite

leader of the village challenged Asura and his men to a fight, but he too was no match. As Nora

escaped she saw the death of the Shadow village and her father to the hands of Asura. Soon it

was claimed that the Shadow village was cleared and that the Great War was then claimed over.

Nora then lay unconscious for days, and then woke up one day to find that the place she once

called home was no longer as it used to be and it had become just a ravaged grave­yard. She

searched for her friends and family in the mess but could find nothing and kept recollecting the

sights of the attack she evidenced. As time passed Nora grew with anger and rage building in

her heart every day, recreating the horror of the attack each day. All she wanted was revenge,

from those who killed her loved ones and the one who killed her father, Asura. She learned the

of mystical Shadow art of fighting. She lived alone waiting desperately for the day she would

face Asura. She carved weapons out the materials she found in the forest. Now she knew she

was finally ready, and that she would finally start her journey as the ‘Lone survivor of the

Shadow tribe’ and change her fate for good.

She started her journey to find Asura. On her long journey she had to go through allthe villages

that once betrayed her village, and also finds out that Asura now rules over all the villages as a

Supreme leader from his ‘Destro tower’ placed where the shadow village used to exist years

back. Some villages regretted the betrayal and feared that their fate would be the same as the

shadow’s fate if they go against Asura, therefore were friendly to her. While the others felt

Asura protected their village and that they owe to him, therefore would do as he commands.

Every village she passed by she learned their unique elemental fighting art, also faced their Elite

warriors and Asura’s fighters and creatures on the way to the Destro tower. She was growing

stronger every day. She also made allies with a few tribes and joined forces with them in order

to defeat Asura.

Finally it was time for her to meet Asura. The day had come for Nora to take revenge. The day

she had been waiting all her life. She had finally reached the Destro tower but had to battle

Asura’s army of elite warriors and creatures to finally reach Asura himself. Finally it was her and

Asura in the battle of the ages that would decide the fate of all the villages. Nora and Asura

fought the battle using their elemental fighting arts and powers. Nora gave Asura a tough fight,

Asura then laughed and claimed that it was about time he stopped toying with her. He revealed

his true demonic powers. Nora was now far weaker than Asura, as he possessed powers far

beyond Nora’s imagination. Asura then revealed himself to be the serial murderer who became

After hearing all of it and being almost killed by Asura, Nora rises again to end it once and for all

and attacks a combination of all the eight elements so powerful even Asura couldn’t handle

therefore losing to Nora. Nora then killed Asura, and also freed the few enslaved shadow

villagers from the tower .She had done what she set out to do long long time ago. And she took

over as the Supreme Queen of the villages, in order to maintain peace and harmony between

the villages and re­established the Shadow village. Nora truly changed the fate of the world,

becoming a legend to become the first to ever combine all elements and save the world from

evil.

GAME PLAY

GAME FLOW

The game play is a traditional hack and slashes with several additional elements. During the

opening sequence, the player explores the forest and learns basic moves. Weapons are often

dropped by enemies. Moreover the weapons are customizable, which allows players to fuse a

weapon with statistical bonuses, elemental attacks, and increased weapon attack speed.

Weapon upgrades are obtained by slaying tougher enemies.

The game proceeds to the villages with players controlling Nora. She possesses abilities

including climbing walls, gliding in mid­air and jumping great distances. The game is normally

shown from a third person perspective behind Nora, but players can rotate the viewpoint

around him by using the right analog stick. Combat in Twisted Fate involves the combinations of

various different attacks before a finishing move. Nora's enemies are grouped into humans with

special elemental abilities derived from each village. Different elemental attacks will have a

different effect on enemies.

Advancing through the different elemental villages Nora becomes stronger and gains more

abilities from defeated bosses. Scrolls from the villages are required to advance to the next

level. She finally faces Asura, the final boss and has to combine her powers to defeat him.

Worlds in the game cover many forms of terrain that coincide with the 8 elements. As with most

action games, Twisted fate will feature a boss or large group of enemies that must be defeated

to advance or obtain a special item. Traps and secret passages are also common in each village

(for instance, destructible walls).

Save points are checkpoints, which may be accessed when a character dies. Unlike most Action

games, the main character does not level up. The character themselves can only grow stronger

with the consumption of certain potions and learning new art styles.

This is your primary means to move Nora. When you move the analogue in any direction Nora

will move in that direction. This button also helps Nora melle attack when clicked.

Camera – Right Analogue

This is used to move the third person view around Nora.

The “X” button – Jump

This button is used to make Nora jump. Jumping is a very key element in this game as Nora can

evade attacks and also do aggressive attacks with the help of jump.

The “O” button – Elemental change

This button helps Nora to choose from elementals. As Nora progresses into the game she will

become a master of many elementals and this button will help quickly choose which she wants

from mobs or bosses when her health points are low. With this function you can run from tribe

to tribe very quickly without getting bored.

R1+R2 – Crouch

When both R1 and R2 are used together it will make Nora crouch. This will also help her evade a

few attacks and will help her use some her weapons with improved skill.

The “L1” button – Change weapon

This button is used by Nora to quick change her weapons. She will access to different weapons,

which have there own unique ability.

The “L2” button – Walk slowly

This button will make Nora walk very slowly without making any noise. This will be used to

sneak away from enemies when Nora does not have to fight them or to hide when her health

points are low.

The “Select” button - Skill and Weapons menu

This button will take you to a menu screen from where u can select Nora’s elemental form. This

will show you how to perform combos and all the weapons possessed by you. This will also have

an option to see the map. When this button used the game will be paused.

The “Start” button – In-game menu

This button will take you to the In­game menu. Over here you can save the game, load the

game, pause the game, end the game or go the main menu. Whenever this button is pressed

the game will be paused.

COMBAT

Arts:

Arts can be learned by trying out different combinations of moves in battle. Once you stumble

across one, the words "New Art!" will appear on the screen and the name of the Art will be

recorded in your character's Arts List. You can view this list in by pressing the select button. You

can learn any Art at any time as long as you can perform the moves to pull it off. If you try to do

an Art without having enough Mana, the attacks will be executed, but they will not be as

powerful as the actual Art itself.

Hyper Arts:

Hyper Arts are learned by obtaining and using special Books from the villages. These are often

more powerful than regular Arts. You can collect different art elements like fire, water and wind

from different villages. These books are generally either easy to find in treasure chests or

obtained by defeating enemies. They are similar to normal Arts in the sense that they will just

be a combination of punches and kicks but with the addition of the element button. You can

also learn these from NPCs in the game.

Miracle Arts:

Miracle Arts often combine several different Arts in a large combo, like hyper arts. They are hard

to pull off but the damage dealt is worth it. These are only available after defeating bosses.

The Mana Gauge

The Mana Gauge is located directly under your life bar. The Mana Gauge is drained after

performing Special Art Moves or is depleted when your opponent taunts. The Mana Gauge is

recharged by performing any attack, drinking potions or blocking an attack.

When your Mana Gauge is full or mostly filled, it will be green. Using Special Moves in this color

will assure your Specials are the most powerful. When your Mana Gauge is much lower, it will

become blue. Specials used in this area will be weaker than those performed in a green bar.

When your Mana gauge is near empty or completely empty, the bar will be purple. Some

specials will not even come out when the Mana Gauge is at this level. And the specials that do

activate are usually very weak or useless.

Weapons and items are one of the most crucial elements of the game. Nora will use these to

combat and defeat her enemies. Nora will have a wide choice of weapons to choose from for

her magic attacks as well as melee and ranged attacks.

Magic Staff ­ This will help Nora use her elemental powers. This will be her primary

source of attack.

Shadow bolt, Fireballs etc at enemies at very quick speed but low

home now stands this evil structure ruled by the evil

Asura himself. Outside the Destro Tower the player

has to fight and defeat lots of Asura’s warriors and

Asura’s swordsmen to enter the tower. Once all the

opponents are defeated and player successfully enters

the tower, player has to stay aware all the time, as

their next opponents are Asura’s Elites, who are

Asura’s own bodyguards. They attack with swiftness and tact, and are stronger than any of

Asura’s other henchmen. Battling through them and defeating them would finally lead the

player to the ultimate destination, to Asura himself for the final battle.

They are one of Asura’s stronger henchmen, who are skilled swordsmen.

They lead an army of Asura’s warriors outside every village. And can be

found in abundance defending the gates of Destro tower.

personal bodyguards. They can only be found inside the Destro tower,

and its Elite Leader. They attack using fire technique and have a physical

techniques. Highly aggressive in nature and is believed to possess physical

tsunami. She commands the forces of the water fighters, who guard her

it you have to go past the Water Elite Leader herself. A combat with her is

always unpredictable as the nature of the water itself, the ever changing and improving nature

of her water techniques make her opponents surrender and drown in the tsunami of her moves.

Lightning Elite Leader:

He is the Elite leader of the Lightning village and the master of all lightning

techniques. The one who is believed to have once stolen a lightning from the

sky. He commands the forces of the lightning fighters, who guard him and

the Lightning village from every single threat. The Elite Leader also guards

the secret lightning techniques of the lightning village, so in order to get to it

you have to go past the Lightning Elite Leader himself. It is difficult to stand

up against him in a combat, as he strikes his opponent at the speed of light

leaving the opponent no time to counter.

it you have to go past the Sound Elite Leader himself. It is difficult to stand up

to his mind games alone, leave alone his sound techniques that can hit the

He is the Elite leader of the Wind village and the master of all wind

techniques. The one who possesses the power to turn a calm breeze into

raging storm. He commands the forces of the wind fighters, who guard

him and the Wind village from every single threat. The Elite Leader also

guards the secret wind techniques of the fire village, so in order to get to

it you have to go past the Wind Elite Leader himself. The quality of

manipulating the air gives him an undue advantage in a combat, allowing

him to choke the opponent to death without even touching the

entrusted with the light of holiness. She commands the forces of

the light fighters, who guard her and the Light village from every

techniques of the Light village, so in order to get to it you have to

go past the Light Elite Leader herself. It is difficult to stand up against the blinding and luminous

light techniques, and the light of holiness that lets her control her opponent’s mind for a limited

time is a move that has no possible counter.

Asura:

He is the mysterious warrior who

rose to power and became a legend

after the Great War. He and his men

destroyed the Shadow village and

built the Destro tower on that

ravaged land. He then began ruling

all the other villages and was seen

as the protector of the world, but

the truth is far off from this reality.

Asura is the most powerful being in

the world who is able to control all

the elements one at a time. He is

revealed to be a soul stealer and a

evil being. Apart from that ability he has his own combating technique. And the power of

TECHNICAL

GAME PHYSICS

Nora is controlled with an analogue stick, which can be moved in any desired direction and Nora

will move accordingly. Nora can jump, run, walk and sneak around the environment with ease.

Nora has two weapons held in both her hands and she also can use different elemental power.

When Nora uses her weapons she is very quick. She can jump and crouch with her weapons to

improve her attacks. Nora can use many different magic attacks on her enemies with the help of

elementals. The attacks she uses with her weapons are all based on physical laws. The

environment also reacts to the damages done due to attacks.

When Nora gets attacked her body will react to it the way normal human bodies react to it. She

will yell in pain and you can also see blood spilling .The blood spilling will be exactly the same as

how blood from human beings is spilled when they are attack by swords or guns.

The game will feature the look and the feel of a next generation game with pre­calculated

physics simulations as rendering techniques that use cube mapping as opposed to real­time

reflection. The game will have perfect shadows depending the direction of the light. The game

will also have many shader effects will make the game look very intensifying. There will also be

dark backgrounds to make the game look a little scary.

Although the game consists a lot of magic elements to which the laws of physics cannot be

applied, the game will be made using intensive physical calculation for the movement and

weapon usage. The game will use simulated technique to make the magic as realistic as

possible.

ARTIFICAL INTELLIGENCE

Asura’s fighters’ AI will cause different enemies to behave in different ways according to their

characteristics, weapons and physical abilities. For example Asura’s warriors will surround in big

group and attack the player from all directions, as they are weaker, while Asura’s swordsmen

look to stay close and attack with their sword inflicting damage. And Asura’s elites are much

stronger than the warriors and swordsmen as they hide in dark and attack the player quickly.

Elemental fighters’ AI will cause each elemental to attack in a different pattern due to their

unique physical abilities and characteristics. For example Wind fighters would fly and evade

attacks, fire fighters are most likely to stay close and self explode, lightning fighters would strike

fast and run, all use their abilities in fights but are slightly weaker than the boss of the level.

Boss AI will use a vast number of attacks and will gain power from the environment and

enhance their elemental abilities, so the player can learn other elemental attacks in order to

defeat them, some bosses will even move increasingly faster, fly shape­shift or stay invisible all

depending on their elemental abilities. The Main boss although is an exception, as he is access

to all elemental attacks and all unique physical abilities.

Twisted fate has an emphasis on dark tones with the elements playing a key part is in the

bringing out the game colors. The elemental effects are very stylized to stand out They will be

able to interact with the environment to add life to the overall dark mood in the game.

Characters show a resemblance to the element they are bonded to but still have on overall

human look and nature to them. The levels and items have very straight edges to them and

closely resemble their real life counterparts. Blood is present but will not overpower the rest of

the other visual effects

Mood

The story closely reflects the mood of the game. There are some comedic moments to ease the

tension but it is mostly filled with grief and anger.

SOUND AND MUSIC

The game’s soundtrack and background music will vary from map to map and also vary

according to the situation Nora is in. When Nora spawns there will a slow symphony playing .As

she begins her journey and becomes more and more powerful the songs also become powerful.

The music will become heavier and a lot of bass will be used. When she is in a battle the music

will be according to the boss she is fighting as tribe has a different theme of music. When Nora

A MIDI style synthesizer produces the music. By using this technique the music can change

subtly with the action by adding or removing instruments and changing tempos to provide

players with an ever­changing dynamic game score.

The sound effects in the game are used to provide clear, audible feedback to the action that is

taking place on screen. The style of the sound effects is dark and very scary with lots of sounds

combined together to create it. Sound effects are distinct and memorable so that players can

instantly recognize actions just by the distinct noises.

All sound effects are produced in a mono 44khz variable bit rate Ogg Vorbis format. This allows a

good sound quality with minimal data space wastage. Sound effects are presented by the

game’s 5.1 surround sound engine to provide players with a clear sonic understanding of their

surroundings at all times.

further away from the village. She suddenly wakes up and looks beside her bed. It shows the

doll posing as though it was covering in fear.

Fire village:

A conversation is taking between two guards. They are claiming of their village supreme

mastery in fire should make them rulers of all the other villages. Using this chance Nora sneaks

past them unnoticed.

Earth village:

A crystal ball shows a village under attack and in chaos. It slowly zooms out to show Asura in

disbelief. He waves his hand across the crystal ball and walks away.

Water village:

A huge waterfall is shown with children playing underneath it. Suddenly an unexpected

increase in current causes a huge downpour that washes everything away. No one if left in sight.

Lightning village:

A storm is forming as Nora makes her way to the village. As she navigates through the terrain

she notices someone is following her. She quickly tries to chase after this unknown individual

but loses track of him.

Sound village:

As Nora approaches the sound village a piercing noise starts make her lose control of herself. It

is a self defense mechanism that is activated by the sound village to scare of intruders.

Wind village:

A tornado is sweeping across the village as Nora arrives. She looks up and sees an unknown ship

flying across the sky.

Light village:

Asura is seen at the light village spreading his propaganda. Upon spotting Nora he instructs his

guards to finish her off.

Destro tower:

Shows the might of the tower as every floor seemed flowing with all the elemental energy the

villages possessed.

Ending Cinematic:

The ending cinematic shows the collapsing of the destro tower and all villagers gathering to

greet their new champion. In the distance a girl is playing with Nora’s doll.

Baby Sumos – Baby sumo’s is an I Phone game which is currently under development. Itis a cute action game which consists of 2 different playable modes. The game consists of11 characters, 11 levels. The game is being created by a team of 2 members. My roles inthis project are game producer, project manager and level designer. I am also the gamedesigner for this game. I have done the balancing and come up with a unique game playidea for this game.
