Whether for the thrill of high speed, the comfort, the scenery or the attractive prices, travelling by train is a unique

experience. If you haven’t decided how to travel yet, we have put together 5 compelling reasons to choose the train

    on your next trip.

5 reasons to travel by train

1 City centre to city centreMost major train stations are located in the heart ofthe cities and benet from excellent connections withother public transportations such as the underground, taxis, and buses. When travelling by train, you avoidtransfers, endless queues at crowded airports or the

stress of driving in a different country. Reach yourdestination fresh and relaxed.

2 ComfortWhether it is for long or short journeys, comfort is alwaysappreciated. Onboard, you will nd spacious carriageswith large seats and space for luggage. You can easilywalk in the train or socialise at the bar-buffet car. While2nd class offers good value for money, 1st class can bevery affordable, so don’t hesitate to upgrade!

3 Unique experienceFrom high speed trains offering an efcient and rapidconnection between two cities to luxurious trains orpanoramic trains offering spectacular scenery, a trainride can be a destination in itself. The train is also avery popular mode of transport. It’s an opportunity to

meet the locals, learn more about their country and gettips on the best secret destinations.

4 Save moneyWhether you go for a Pass or a Point to Point ticket, you can always benet from attractive prices. Ticketscan be very affordable when booked in advance andPasses not only offer discounts but also give accessto bonuses. Optimise your budget with night trains, saving on hotel costs.

5 Be greenThink about making that trip a little greener by travellingby train. Well-established high speed rail systemsoperate in a more environmentally friendly way thanany other means of transport.

Most day trains offer 1st and 2nd class accommodation. If you like to be pampered, upgrade to 1st class: enjoy the larger seats, generous legroom and on some routes, additional services such as a complimentary meal, free wireless connection andattentive staff. As opposed to air travel, 1 st class prices for trains can be very affordableespecially if you book in advance.

    Day trains

High speed trains have revolutionised travel in Europe, making cities moreaccessible and bringing people closer. Enjoy the thrill of high speed, in great

comfort, onboard the most popular high speed trains like TGV, Eurostar, Thalys,ICE, AVE, Frecciarossa, Italo and more.

Regional trains connect main cities to the beautiful and peaceful countryside.Choose from the large range of destinations and schedules.
