    The Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan, henceforth mentioned as KVS, is

    an autonomous organization under the Ministry of Human ResourceDevelopment, Govt. of India. The KVS intends to recruit Officers, teachingand non-teaching staff for its Offices/schools spread all over India.Applications are invited in the prescribed format (Annexure-I) from the IndianNationals for filling up the vacancies in the Kendriya VidyalayaSangathan for the year 2010-11.

    IMPORTANT

    1. CANDIDATES TO ENSURE THEIR ELIGIBILITY FOR THEEXAMINATION.

    1.1 The candidates applying for the examination should ensure thatthey fulfill all eligibility conditions for admission to the examination.Their admission at all the stages of the examination will be purelyprovisional subject to satisfying the prescribed eligibility condition(s).

    1.2 Mere issue of Admit Card to the candidate will not imply that hiscandidature has been finally cleared by the KVS.

    1.3 The KVS takes up verification of eligibility conditions withreference to original documents only after the candidates have

    qualified for interview/personality Test.

    2. APPLICATION FORM:

    2.1 Candidates must apply in the Common Application Formdevised by the KVS for this examination and available with theadvertisement inviting applications or may be downloaded as availablein this site.

    2.2 Candidates are advised to read carefully the guidelines forfilling up the Application Form given with this notice.

    3. LAST DATE FOR RECEIPT OF APPLICATIONS:- 12th

    October, 2009

    3.1 Candidates must send application by ordinary post sinceapplications sent by Regd. Post/Speed Post/Courier are not acceptedat Post Box address. The KVS will not be responsible for applicationssent at any other address (including KVS office) or sent by hand orotherwise. Candidates are advised to send the application well inadvance to avoid any postal delay.

    3.2 However, in respect of candidates residing abroad or in certainremote localities specified in para 6 of this notice the last date forreceipt of application by post shall be 19th October, 2009.

    : 2 :4. FACILITATION COUNTER FOR GUIDANCE OF

    CANDIDATES:

    In case of any guidance/information/clarification regarding theirapplication, candidature etc. candidates can contact the AssistantCommissioner(Admn.) Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan (Hqrs.) NewDelhi - 110 602 over Telephone No 26569515 or 26521579 or inperson on working days between 16.00 hrs and 17.00 hrs.

    5. MOBILE PHONES BANNED:5.1 Mobile phones, pagers or any other communication devices arenot allowed inside the premises where the examination is beingconducted. Any infringement of these instructions shall entaildisciplinary action including ban from future examination.

    5.2 Candidates are advised in their own interest not to bring any ofthe banned items including mobile phones/pagers to the venue of theexamination, as arrangements for safekeeping can not be assured.

    6. Mode of payment of Examination Fee:-6.1. For applying to the aforesaid posts, candidates are advised to

    remit Rs.1,000/- for Officers post and Rs.750/- for other poststhrough electronic transfer into Account No.405046333 with theIndian Bank, Mehrauli Institutional Area, New Delhi 110016(Branch Code : 943).For remittance of fee through electronic mode, candidates haveto visit the nearest branch of the Indian Bank, alongwithprescribed Challan. The sample copy of the challan isappended alongwith this advertisement and can also be

    downloaded from KVSs Website. The candidates have to fill inthe Challan and deposit the same in the Bank along withrequisite fee in any branch of Indian Bank. THE WOMENCANDIDATES ARE EXEMPTED FROM PAYING THE FEE.

    6.2. One copy of Challan duly signed and stamped alongwithDeposit Journal Number should be collected from the bank forfilling up necessary details in the application form. The Challanreceived from the Bank should also be attached with theapplication form in original.In addition to fee, the Indian Bank will charge Rs.30/- asService charge for transferring the fee through electronic mode

    i.e. the candidates should remit FEE+Rs.30/- (Rs.1030/- forOfficers cadre and Rs.780/- for other posts).

    6.3. The fee can also be transferred from any Bank other than theIndian Bank. If fee is transferred through any other Bank otherthan the Indian Bank, the following particulars are to be providedto the remitting Banker:

    -3-6.4. The candidate must ensure that the Challan/Counter Foil/Cash

    6.5. However, such candidates will have to collect proforma ofChallan/Counter Foil/Cash Receipt Voucher/Pay-in Slip from therespective Bank, since every bank has a different proforma. Theproforma provided by the Bank should be filled in properly anddeposited alongwith fees.The copy of Challan/Counter foil/CashReceipt Voucher/Pay-in Slip duly signed and stamped alongwithDeposit Journal No./ UTR No. should be collected from the Bankfor filling up necessary details in the application form. TheChallan/Counter foil/Cash Receipt Voucher/Pay-in Slip received

    from the Bank should be attached with the application form inoriginal.

    6.6. In addition, those candidates who are unable to deposit therequisite fee through electronic mode, may send fee by way ofDemand Draft (valid for a period of 6 months) in favour ofKendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan payable at New Delhi.On the back side of the Demand Draft the candidates areadvised to write their name, date of birth, address and postapplied for in capital letters. Before collecting the demand draftfrom the Bank, the candidates are advised to check the

    following:

    - The date of issue is correctly mentioned.- The signature of bank authorities exists on the Bank Draft.- The address of issuing bank and branch code is correctlymentioned.- The amount of examination fee is correctly mentioned in wordsand figures,- The draft is payable in favour of Kendriya VidyalayaSangathan at New Delhi,- The draft is valid for six months, etc.

    6.7. Candidates are advised to keep photocopy of the above detailsviz. Demand Draft/Challan/Counter foil/Cash ReceiptVoucher/Pay-in Slip with them for reference.

    NOTE: RESERVATION

    PART - II : ELIGIBILITY/AGE RELAXATION

    1 ELIGIBILITY OF APPLICANTS

    1.1 All applicants must ensure that they fulfill the essential qualification andage for the post applied for and other conditions stipulated in thisadvertisement as on 12th October, 2009. The applications of those

    candidates not fulfilling the essential qualifications and other requirement willbe summarily rejected and no correspondence will be made in this regard.

    2 AGE RELAXATION2.1 Relaxation in upper age limit will be as under:(a). No age bar in the case of employees of Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan(b). Up-to a maximum of Five years in the case of SC/ ST candidates.(c). Up-to a maximum of three years in the case of OBC candidates.(d). Up-to five years for persons who had ordinarily been domiciled in the

    State of Jammu and Kashmir during 01.01.80 to 31.12.89.(e). Up-to a maximum of Five Years for Govt. servants.(f). An ex-serviceman who has put in not less than 06 months continuous

    service in the Armed Forces (Army, Navy and Air Force) shall beallowed to deduct the period of such service from his actual age and ifthe resultant age does not exceed the maximum age limit prescribedfor the post by more than 3 years he shall be deemed to satisfy thecondition regarding age limit. This is not applicable for the Officerscadre.

    (g). Up-to a maximum of 10 years in the case of SC/ST candidates servingas Govt. employees in accordance with the Govt. of India instructions.An applicant claiming age relaxation under this para should produce acertificate from his/her employer to the effect that he/ she is a Govt.servant as on the date of advertisement.

    NOTE 2 Candidates should also note that once a Date of Birth hasbeen claimed by them and entered in the records of theKVS for the purpose of admission to an Examination, nochange will be allowed subsequently (or at any otherExamination of the KVS) on any grounds whatsoever.

    NOTE 3 The candidate should exercise due care while enteringtheir date of birth in column specified in the applicationform. If on verification at any subsequent stage, any

    PART - III : HOW TO APPLY AND EXAMINATION FEE/APPLICATION FEE.

    i. Application must be submitted in the prescribed format published asAnnexure I of this advertisement. The application format can also bedownloaded available in this site.

    ii. Applicants may apply for one or more than one post in accordance withthe dates and timings of the examination fixed for the posts at their ownrisk so that examination for the posts does not clash.

    iii. Candidates desirous to apply for more than one post should submitapplication for each post accompanied by necessary enclosures foreach post in separate envelops.

    iv. Candidates serving in any recognised Institution/ Organisation/Autonomous body/ Central Govt./ State Govt. and CBSE affiliated +2Schools must apply Through Proper Channel. Applications sentthrough proper channel should reach the address (i.e. P.O. BoxNo.4624, Hauz Khas, New Delhi-110016) by the last date. However,

    candidates may send an advance copy along with the requisite feeof Rs.1,000/- (for Officers Cadres) and Rs.750 (for Teaching andNon-Teaching posts) for General/OBC candidates (Non-Refundable) so as to reach the above-mentioned address before thelast date. The advance applications will be considered provisionallysubject to the condition that the applications sent through properchannel are invariably received by the last date.

    NOTE 1 While filling in his application form, the candidate shouldcarefully decide about his/her choice for the centre and optionalsubject for the Examination. More than one application from acandidate giving different centers and/ or optional subjects willnot be accepted in any case. Even if a candidate sends morethan one completed application the KVS will accept only one

    application at their discretion and decision of the KVS in thematter shall be final.If any candidate appears at a centre/optional subject other thanthe one indicated by the KVS in his/her Admit Card, the papersof such a candidate will not be evaluated and his/hercandidature will be liable for cancellation.

    NOTE 2 Since these application forms are to be processed in acomputerized system, due care should be taken by thecandidates to fill up their application form correctly. No columnof the Application should be left blank. Incomplete or defectiveapplication shall be summarily rejected. No representation orcorrespondence regarding such rejection shall be entertainedunder any circumstances.Candidates are required to submit along with their applicationsthe certificates in support of their claims regarding Age,Educational Qualifications, Category to which they belong, i.e.,Scheduled Castes/Scheduled Tribes, OBC and Physicallydisabled etc. The candidates applying for the post shouldensure that they fulfill all the eligibility conditions for admissionto the Examination.     NOTE 3 A candidate who is or has been declared by the KVS to be guilty

    of:

    (i) obtaining support for his candidature by the following means,namely:-

    (a) Offering illegal gratification to, or(b) Applying pressure on, or(c) Blackmailing, or threatening to black mail any person

    connected with the conduct of the examination, or(ii) impersonating, or(iii) procuring impersonation by any person, or(iv) submitting fabricated documents or documents which have

    been tampered with, or(v) making statements which are incorrect or false or suppressing

    (vi) resorting to the following means in connection with hiscandidature for the examination, namelya). Obtaining copy of question paper through improper

    means,b). Finding out the particulars of the persons connected with

    (vii) using unfair means during the examination, or(viii) writing obscene matter or drawing obscene sketches in the

    scripts, or(ix) misbehaving in the examination hall including tearing of the

    scripts, provoking fellow examiners to boycott examination,creating a disorderly scene and the like, or

    (x) harassing or doing bodily harm to the staff employed by theKVS for the conduct of their examinations, or

    (xi) being in possession of or using any mobile phone, paper or anyelectronic equipment or device or any other equipment capableof being used as a communication device during theexamination; or

    (xii) violating any of the instructions issued to candidates along withtheir Admit Cards permitting them to take the examination; or

    (xiii) attempting to commit or as the case may be abetting the KVS ofall or any of the acts specified in the foregoing clauses;may in addition to rendering himself liable to criminalprosecution, be liable(a). to be disqualified by the KVS from the examination for

    which he/she is a candidate and/or

    (b). to be debarred either permanently or for a specified periodby the KVS from any examination or selection held by

    them; and( c). if he/she is already in service under Central/StateGovernment, Public Sector Undertaking, Centrallyfinanced autonomous organization or any other Govt.body disciplinary action under the appropriate rules maybe recommended by the KVS.

    Provided that no penalty under this rule shall be imposed except after

    (i). giving the candidate an opportunity of making suchrepresentation, in writing as he/she may wish to make in that

    behalf; and(ii). taking the representation, if any, submitted by the candidatewithin the period allowed to him/her into consideration.

    3. LAST DATE FOR RECEIPT OF APPLICATIONS:

    3.3 Candidates who are claiming the benefit of extended time shouldclearly indicate in the appropriate column of the application form, thearea code of the particular area or region (e.g. Assam, Meghalaya,J&K etc.) where they are residing. In case they fail to do so, thebenefit of extended time will not be allowed to them.

    NOTE 1 Candidates should clearly note that the KVS will in no case beresponsible for non-receipt of their application or any delay inreceipt thereof on any account whatsoever. No applicationreceived after the prescribed last date will be entertained under

    4. ACKNOWLEDGEMENT OF APPLICATIONS4.1 On receipt of an application from a candidate, the Acknowledgement

    Card submitted by the candidate along with the application form will be

    dispatched to him/her by the KVS duly stamped in token of receipt ofhis/her Application. If a candidate does not receive theAcknowledgement Card within 30 days, he/she should at once contactthe KVS by quoting his/her Application for the post applied for, name &year of examination. The mere fact that a candidates application hasbeen acknowledged by the KVS does not mean that his/hercandidature for the examination has been accepted by the KVS.Candidates will be informed at the earliest possible about theiradmission to the examination or rejection of their application.

    5. EXAMINATION FEES / APPLICATION FEE

    5.1 Candidates will have to pay along with his /her application a nonrefundable application fee of Rs.1,000/- for Officer cadres and Rs.750/-for Teaching and Non-Teaching Posts either by Demand Draft only infavour of KENDRIYA VIDYALAYA SANGATHAN payable at NewDelhi OR through Electronics Banking in accordance with theinstructions as given under:-

In the absence of such proof and if no fee hasbeen paid, the application will be rejected on the ground of fee notpaid. No correspondence or proof sent later will be entertained.

    5.5 No fee exemption is however available to OBC candidates and theyare required to pay the full prescribed fees.

    5.6 No fee will charged from women candidates.

    NOTE-1 Notwithstanding the aforesaid provision for fee exemption, aphysically disabled candidates will be considered to be eligible forappointment only if he/she (after such physical examination as theGovt. or the appointing authority, as the case may be mayprescribed) is found to satisfy the requirements of physical andmedical standards for the concerned service/posts to be allocatedto physically disabled candidates by the KVS.

    NOTE-2 APPLICATIONS NOT ACCOMPANIED BY THE PRESCRIBEDFEE (UNLESS REMISSION OF FEE IS CLAIMED) SHALL BESUMMARILY REJECTED.

    6. CORRESPENDENCE WITH THE KVS6.1 The KVS will not enter into any correspondence with the candidates

    about their candidature except in the following cases:a. Every candidate for this examination will be informed at the earliestpossible date of the result of his/her application. Admit Cards, indicating theRoll Nos. will be issued to the candidates who are admitted to the examination.The Admit Card will bear the photograph of the candidate. If a candidate doesnot receive his/her Admit Card or any other communication regarding his/hercandidature for the examination three weeks before the commencement of theexamination, he/she should at once contact the KVS. On receipt of such acommunication, Admit Card or a duplicate copy thereto will be issued to the

    admitted candidate. Information in this regard can also be obtained from theconcerned Regional Office of KVS one day before the date of examination.

    b. No candidate will ordinarily be allowed to take the examinationunless he/she holds an Admit Card for the examination. On the receipt ofAdmit Card, check it carefully and bring discrepancies/errors, if any, to thenotice of KVS immediately.6.2 The candidates should note that their admission to the examination will

    be purely provisional based on the information given by them in theapplication form. This will be subject to verification of all the eligibilityconditions by the KVS.

    6.3 The mere fact that a certificate of admission to the Examination hasbeen issued to a candidate, will not imply that his/her candidature hasbeen finally cleared by the KVS. Candidates may note that the KVStakes up the verification of eligibility conditions of a candidate, withreference to original documents, only after the candidate has qualifiedfor interview. Unless the candidature is formally confirmed by the KVS,it continues to be provisional.

    6.4 The decision of the KVS as to the eligibility or otherwise of a candidatefor admission to the Examination shall be final.

    6.5 Candidates should note that the name in the Admit Card in some

    cases may be abbreviated due to technical reasons.6.6 In the event of a candidate receiving more than one Admit Card fromthe KVS, he/she should use only one of these Admit Cards forappearing at the examination and return the other(s) to the KVS Office.

    6.7 Any change in address should be communicated to the KVS at theearliest. Although the KVS make every effort to take account of suchchanges, they cannot accept any responsibility in the matter.

    6.8 If a candidate receives an Admit Card in respect of some othercandidate on account of handling error, the same should beimmediately returned to the KVS with a request to issue the correctAdmit Card. Candidates may note that they will not be allowed to takethe examination on the strength of an Admit Card issued in respect ofanother candidate.

    examination given below, for the recruitment to the above mentionedofficer cadre post and non-teaching post at Ahmedabad, Bangalore,Bhopal, Bhubaneswar, Chandigarh, Chennai, Delhi, Dehradun,Guwahati, Hyderabad, Jabalpur, Kolkata, Jaipur, Jammu, Lucknow,Mumbai, Patna and Port Blair. The written examinations for officersgrade, i.e., PRINCIPAL will be held at Delhi only.

    (ii) The centres for the examinations as mentioned above are subject tochange at the discretion of the Sangathan. While every effort will bemade to allot the candidates, the centre of his/ her choice for theexamination, the Sangathan may at its discretion allot a different centreto the candidate in case sufficient candidates do not opt for a particularcentre for any post or for any other administrative reason (s). Norequest for change of examination centre once allotted will beentertained and the candidate will have to appear at the allotted centreat his/ her expenses.

    (iii) The mode of selection shall include a written test/skill test/interview.

    A (a). For the post of Principal there will be two papers; first paper(objective type) General Awareness (40), Child Psychology (35),Education Methodology (35), Quantitative Aptitude, Reasoning andData Sufficiency (40) and paper two: Bilingual competence-(objective) (50), Written communication skill (subjective)(50),Subjective/Descriptive (100).

    (b). The written examination will be objective type for other Non-Teaching Posts. Paper-I (General Paper) will be containing 100objective type questions with four multiple choice answers in thesubject like General English (20), General Hindi (20), GeneralKnowledge (20), Quantitative Aptitude (20) and Reasoning (20).The duration of the paper will be 2 hours. For the post of Assistantthe objective type examination will be followed by a descriptiveexamination of 3 hours duration, i.e., paper-II containing in English

    and Hindi languages to test the subject competency of candidates.For the post of UDC, LDC, the candidates qualifying in the objectivetype examination will be required to appear for a practical test, i.e.,Paper-II/II/III/IV and II, III respectively consisting computer operationtest, typing test the date and time will be intimated separately to theshort listed candidates.

    B.i) For Teaching and Misc. teaching post the 1st paper which is meantfor screening of candidates shall have two parts. The first part willconsist of objective type questions covering areas viz., GeneralKnowledge, English Language Skill, Reasoning, QuantitativeAptitude, Current Affairs, Education, General Science and IndianConstitution etc. This will carry 50% marks.

    ii) The Second part will consist of objective type questions on thesubject offered by the candidates for selection. This will be also50% marks.

    iii) The 2nd paper meant for evaluation of language competence willbe of qualifying in nature. However, the candidate will be expectedto obtain 20% marks in English & Hindi separately as well as

    minimum 33% in this paper as a whole in order to qualify the test.iv) The 3rd paper shall be subject paper containing long and short

    answer questions pertaining to subject/post for which a candidatehas applied. The questions may be recall type questions to test theconceptual understanding of the topics. A few questions ondrawing interpretations from given raw data and some situationalquestions may also be asked to test the analytical ability andintelligence of the candidates.

    v) It is essential for all candidates to appear at all the examinations as

    per above details. In case a candidate is found absent in any of thetests his/her answer sheet will not be evaluated. For the evaluationpurpose no negative marking will be given. The detailed scheme ofexamination is as under:

    (iv) The above scheme of examination will remain unchanged except changein the order of date (s) for PR, PGT, TGT, PRT, PET, Drg. Teacher, Lib.,WET, MT, Assistant, UDC, LDC and SCD which may be changeddepending upon number of candidates. While efforts will be made toconduct the Examination in order of dates mentioned above for eachcategory, there is a possibility that the order of dates for conduct ofexamination for PR, PGT, TGT, PRT, PET, Drg. Teacher, Lib., WET, MT,Assistant, UDC, LDC and SCD may change due to administrativereasons. The exact date of holding the examination for these posts will

    be indicated in the Admit - Card to be sent to eligible candidates.

    (v) For teaching posts the candidates performance in Paper I will beevaluated first. Based on the marks and merit ranking secured by acandidate, upto a cut off percentage as decided by KVS, the answersheets of Paper II and Paper III will be evaluated further in respect of onlythose candidates who are short listed on the basis of Paper I. The paperII will be of qualifying in nature. However, the candidate will be expectedto secure at least 20% marks in English & Hindi separately as well asminimum 33% in this paper as a whole in order to qualify the test. Whileprocessing the final result only those candidates will be included whohave obtained a pre determined cut off percentage of marks in paper III.Only those candidates will be called for the interview who have securedmerit ranking based on the performance (above cut off percentage) inPaper III.

    (vi) For the post of Assistant the candidates performance in paper-I will beevaluated first and based on the marks secured and merit ranking by acandidate, up to a cut off percentage as decided by KVS, the descriptiveanswer sheet of paper-II will be evaluated further in respect only thosecandidates who are short listed on the basis of performance in paper-I.

    (vii) For the post of UDC and LDC the merit will be prepared on the basis ofIst paper. The shorthand/Typing Test and Computer Proficiency Test willbe qualifying in nature and the candidates will be expected to meet theminimum requirement prescribed for paper-II, III and IV as the case maybe. The written examination shall be followed by a skill test which shall bequalifying in nature. (Minimum 40%). There will be no interview for thepost of Assistant, UDC and LDC.

    (viii) The Sangathan will make preliminary scrutiny of all the applications to

    determine eligibility of candidate before the Written Tests. For thispurpose a candidate has to attach attested copies of qualificationcertificates, mark-sheets, caste, sub-category etc. for determiningeligibility. However, in case even at the time of preliminary scrutiny, acandidate is allowed to appear at the written examination or even if calledfor the interview and such candidate does not fulfill any of the laid down

    selection criteria, his/her candidature will automatically be treated ascancelled even after giving letter of appointment. Therefore, beforesubmitting the application, the candidate must ensure that he/she fulfillsall the eligibility criteria as laid down in this advertisement. His/ hercandidature will be purely provisional subject to eligibility being verifiedagain after the test and/ or interview.

    (ix) Candidate, who has been allowed to appear at the written test and/ orinterview, should not presume that he/ she is eligible for appointment tothe post.

    (x) The Sangathan reserves the right to cancel his/ her candidature at anystage of the selection, if it is not as per the provisions laid down in thisadvertisement.

    (xi) The decision of the Sangathan about the mode of selection to the postand eligibility conditions of the applicant shall be final and binding. Nocorrespondence will be entertained in this regard.

    (xii) The candidate will report to the interview board well in advance, i.e., sayat least 30 minutes before commencement of interview.

    9.2. Two copies of recent photograph (size 35 x 45 mm) facing camera, outof which one duly attested by a Gazetted Officer and one withoutattestation should be affixed in the box provided in the application form.

    9.3 Attested photocopies of all the educational qualifications, academicand professional, mark-sheets for all the years, degree/ diploma

    certificates starting from Senior Secondary/ Intermediate to highestacademic/ professional qualification the candidate possesses, allcertificates in claim of CCA, achievements/ distinction in Sports,Literary activities, Scouts & Guides, NCC, NSS etc., class X/ certificatefor proof of date of birth, caste/ category, sub-category certificatesissued by the competent authority, Form of Undertaking to be furnishedby Armed Forces personnel applying for Civil Posts under Ex-Servicemen category, experience certificates etc. duly tagged withapplication together.

    10. LAST DATE FOR RECEIPT OF APPLICATIONS10.1 Candidate must send application by ordinary post since applications

    sent by Regd. Post/ Speed Post/Courier are not accepted at Post Boxaddress latest by 12.10.2009. KVS will not be responsible forapplications sent at any other address (including KVS office) or sent byhand or otherwise.     14. General Instructions14.1 Candidates must write the papers in their own hand. In no

    circumstances, they will be allowed the help of scribe to write theanswers for them. However, blind candidates will be allowed to writethe examination with the help of a scribe.

    NOTE 1 The eligibility conditions of a scribe, his/her conduct inside theexamination hall and the manner in which and extent to whichhe/she can help the blind candidate in writing the Examinationshall be governed by the instructions issued by the KVS in thisregard. Violation of all or any of the said instructions shall entailthe cancellation of the candidature of the blind candidate inaddition to any other action that the KVS may take against thescribe.

    14.2 KVS has discretion to fix qualifying marks in any or all the subjects ofthe examination.

    14.3 If a candidates handwriting is not easily legible, a deduction will bemade on this account from the total marks otherwise accruing to him.

    14.4 Marks will not be allotted for mere superficial knowledge.Credit will be given for orderly, effective and exact expressioncombined with due economy of words in all subjects of the

    examination.14.5 In the question papers, wherever required, Standard International Units

    will be used.14.6 Candidates should use only international form of Indian numerals (i.e.

    1, 2, 3, 4,5,6 etc.) while answering questions.14.7 Candidates will be allowed the use of Scientific (Non-Programmable

    type) calculators. Programmable type calculators will however not beallowed and the use of such calculators shall tantamount to resorting tounfair means by the candidates. Loaning or interchanging ofcalculators in the Examination Hall is not permitted.

    14.8 It is also important to note that candidates are not permitted to usecalculators for answering objective type papers (Test Booklets). Theyshould not therefore bring the same inside the Examination Hall.

    15. Interview Test15.1 The candidate will be interviewed by a Board who will have before

    them a record of his career. He will be asked questions on matters ofgeneral interest. Questions on the subject pertaining to the postapplied for may also be asked. The object of the interview is to assessthe personal suitability of the candidate for a career in teachingprofession by a Board of competent and unbiased observers. The test

    is intended to judge the mental caliber and communication skill of acandidate. Some of the qualities to be judged are mental alertness,critical powers of assimilation, clear and logical exposition, andbalance of judgment, variety and depth of interest, leadership,intellectual and moral integrity.

    15.2 The technique of the interview is not that of a strict cross-examinationbut of a natural, through directed and purposive conversation which isintended to reveal the mental qualities of the candidate.

    15.3 The interview test is not intended to be a test either of the specializedor general knowledge of the candidates which has been already testedthrough their written papers. Candidates are expected to have taken

    an intelligent interest not only in their special subjects of academicstudy but also in the events which are happening around them bothwithin and outside their own state or country as well as in moderncurrents of thought and in new discoveries which should arouse thecuriosity of well educated youth/informed citizen.

    15.4 The final merit will be based on the combined performance in thewritten test, skill test and interview. For Principal and Misc. teachingposts the weightage shall be 80:20 respectively.

    15.5 The weighted evaluation scheme in respect of misc. category ofteachers such as Music teacher shall be as under :

    16.1 Applications have been invited only for the posts of PR/PGT/TGT/PRT/DT/PET/LIB./WET/MT/ASTT./UDC/LDC/SCD.Applications for other posts should not be submitted.

    16.2 The vacancies advertised may vary. They may decrease or increase.16.3 Qualifications acquired by the candidates should be strictly in

    accordance with the prescribed qualifications and candidate should notseek claim of equivalence of their qualifications with that ofqualifications as asked for. Wherein grades have been given,equivalence marks of gradation should be attached.

    16.4 The Candidate should not fill in those qualifications in the applicationform for which they have appeared in any of the examination whoseresult is awaited/ withheld/ not declared.

    16.5 Since examination for the posts will be held on two days, a candidate may

    apply for one or more than one post in accordance with the dates and timings

    of the examination fixed for the posts, at his/ her own risk so thatexaminations for the posts may not clash. However, a candidate mustapply separately for each post.

    16.6 The blind candidates applying for a post must clearly write/ mark thecolumn of Blind and PC to determine their case and eligibility etc.Such candidates will not be allowed to use the services of their guide/scribe. The guide/ scribe will be provided at the centre who will assistsuch candidates in writing their answer on their behalf, in case thevisibility level is such that they cannot write on their own.

    a. The OBC candidate must produce a certificate in theprescribed pro-forma, as is issued for employment inCentral Govt. offices and they should not be form creamylayer.

    16.9. Candidates admitted to the examination will be sent Photo Admit Cardpermitting them to take the examination. No candidate will be permitted

    to appear at the examination without the Admit Card.16.10 On receiving the admit cards, candidates should verify that thescanned photograph, signatures (taken from the application form)printed on the admit card are identical and there is no variation of anykind in the photographs and signatures. If any variation is found, pleaseinform Regional Office of KVS located in the city of the centre allocatedfor examination one day before the scheduled date of examination sothat remedial action is taken.

    16.11 A candidate who does not receive Admit-card for the examination mayget in touch with the Assistant Commissioner, Regional Office of theKVS at the city of examination (list of KVS Regional Offices is available

    at the website of KVS) alongwith proof of their having applied for thepost one day before the scheduled date of exam, between 10 AM to 3PM alongwith 2 passport size photographs for issuance of provisionaladmit card. In respect of those candidates whose applications are notreceived by Sangathan due to postal delay or otherwise, no action willbe taken and no fresh request will be entertained.

    16.12 Important information relating to conduct of KVS Examination forrecruitment of Officers cadre, non-teaching and miscellaneousteaching posts will be available at this website . Applicants must remainin touch with KVS through its website for the important informationwhich KVS will display on its website from time to time.

    16.13 Canvassing in any form will disqualify the candidate.16.14 There will not be any negative marking for evaluation purposes. The

    question papers will be provided bilingually, i.e., in Hindi and English.

    16.15 A candidate appearing for the examination must bring with him/her aPen, Pencil, Rubber and other stationery for examination purposes.

    16.16 No Calculator, Cell Phone, Digital Diary, Weapon etc. will be allowedinside the examination hall.

    16.17. The Sangathan may, at its discretion, hold re-examination. Thecandidate will be required to appear for such re-examination at his/herown cost.

    16.18 No TA/DA will be paid for appearing to the written test and interviewexcept unemployed SC/ST candidates for interview only.

    16.19 The results of the short-listed candidates for interview will be availableon the website. The short-listed candidates will be sent interviewletters for appearing at the interview to be held at Delhi.

    16.20 Based on the overall performance in the written examination andInterview, appointment letters will be issued by Sangathan.

    16.21 Selected candidates are liable to be posted anywhere in India basedon the vacancies available in specific region.

    16.22 Selected candidates will be entitled to various allowances asadmissible in accordance with the KVS Rules.

    16.23 Selected candidates will initially be on probation for two years, which isextendable by One year, if necessary.

    16.24 For all practical purposes or in case of any discrepancy in the contextof text of the advertisement in Hindi language, the English version ofthe advertisement will prevail.
