Grades 1-5. Monday-Thursday mornings campers have a small

group experience led by ex‑emplary AAPS teachers. Friday mornings are set aside for spe‑cial interactive hands on proj‑ects based at the site. Unique to this camp, students synthe‑size their afternoon experi‑ence through writing, scientific inquiry and problem solving, extending their learning and re‑ducing typical learning losses that can occur over the summer.

The classroom is outdoors in the afternoon... the sky is the limit! Intheafternoons,NaturalistsDaveSzczygiel,JohnStah‑ly,JaneHayesandJonathanGillesleadcampersinexplorationsof a variety of natural areas that provide a theme and context for the morning math and language arts lessons. Each Friday af‑ternoon all campers have fun swimming at a local public pool.

It used to take me several minutes of imploring, requesting, cajoling toget my 4 year old to put her seat belt on by herself. But after just two days at Safety Town, on the third day, she was the first one to buckle up on saying ‘Mommy, don't drive. I don't have seat belt on. It is not safe'. She still says that everytime we go out in the car. I highly recommend Safety Town to all parents of future kindergarteners.” 2013 Parent Testimonial
