Accordion solos, horn sections, andfeet-tapping rhythms permeate through all of their songs, making it difficult to sit stillwhile listening. The best way to describe their music is, simply put, fun.

This Month, we review Warpaints show frommarch 24th at the black cat in washington dc.Contributor - Melissa

WarpaintFrom: Los Angeles, CaliforniaSounds like: Psychedelic,

Dreamy, Post Punk

LA's Warpaint embarked on their first tour in support of

their second full-length release, "Warpaint," and provedwhy waiting almost four years for this new record was

worth it. Playing to a sold out crowd at the Black Cat,

Warpaint started off the night playing some new songs

opening up with "Feeling Alright," before going straight into

"Intro" (which I love so very much cause the rifts are too

good). Warpaint then continued the night playing old fan

favorites such as "Composure", "Undertow" and the slowand mellow "Billie Holiday," before leading into their new

single "Love Is To Die." Between the interchanging and

dreamy vocals of Emily Kokal and Theresa Wayman, we

had the bassist Jenny Lee Lindberg (my ultimate girl crush

here) with her intense hippie dancing and Stella Mozgawa

pounding intensely on the drums. Ending the night with a

mix of old favorites such as Elephants and Bees, andmy personal favorite from the new album Disco//Very,

Warpaint definitely proved why they are a band to keep

listening to and look forward to for years to come.
