Payment Terms:Full payment on sale day, OR ½ purchase sale day with the balance

DeliveryFree delivery of bulls at the purchaser’s risk to points within a 350 mile radius of Rosemary. Delivery beyond the 350 mile radius will be at cost. Delivery will start April 15. Bulls may be kept at Janzen’s free of charge until delivery. Should the purchaser wish to extend the bull’s stay beyond this date, the cost of feed and care will be $3.00/day/bull. Each bull becomes the buyer’s risk when sold. Insurance will be available at the sale and should be purchased for bulls left at Janzen Ranches for feed and care.

Semen TestingAll bulls will be measured and palpated by our vet. With the bulls not being over a year off age, we will test the bulls in the warm weather, around the end of March.

All bulls have been double vaccinated against foot rot.

Welcome to the 2016 line up. We are really excited on what our cow herd has to offer this year. There are a couple new sire groups that have brought so much into the program here, and the old Faithfull’s never letting us down. Cobra we thought maybe we stuck our neck out a little when we bought him, but with his first group up for offer we couldn’t be more excited about his future. He brings good calving ease with lots of performance. The females are going to be good herd matrons. Luoango was a no brainer, with a no miss pedigree that will bring a moderate, easy fleshing group of calves. He calved so easy we used him on a big group of heifers. Singletrary is a bull we used on a group of heifers that worked very well then went on to the cows. Sniper sired a very good group that has lots to offer for every program. He was again used on all the second calvers. Sting was again with the heifers last year, but was moved to a large group of cows this year. R Label left us with good set of bulls that the commercial industry can use, and this is the last group. Chunk has his usual set of moderate, stout, bulls.

In the Angus pen a new bull Acquire has made his stamp. Thick, hairy, performance. Neptune has the calving ease group to work on the heifers. Escalade has a great set to end his career here, with lots of middle in his group. There are no halfbloods this year, as most had heifers, and if bad luck was going to happen, it was always to those bull calves. Hope to have them back next year.

We would like to thank our parents for letting/helping us get started in the business of agriculture. We couldn’t think of a better place to be, and now how watching our kids get started. Kylea has started a black Simmental program, and Madison has a group of Red Angus cows with her first bull making it into the sale.

Sales Management CommentsAs always, the Janzen Ranches Simmental and Red Angus Bull Sale is a great “kick off” to bull sale season! We honestly can’t think of a sale that has developed as large of a constant repeat clientele base to it as this one. Most of you know why, you’re the repeat customers that know the value and longevity to the product.

This year we see two new sire groups, the “Cobras” and the “Luongos” join the established fraternities. It’s impressive to see how well these two young herdsires have inputted to the quality level of the Simmental offering. Not to be outdone on the Red Angus side of things, the first sons of Red Bar-E-L Acquire 176A are easily noticed.

I always feel I’ve become redundant talking about the foot-quality of the Janzen Bulls, but after walking their bullpen once again in January, it is always an obvious to me. No need to ever “look down” when analyzing these bulls, THEY ARE SOUND! They work, they last, and that’s why they have developed this incredible repeat customer base.

This is a bull we would like to use ourselves. The cow was bred for the hopes of a bull like this. Copper has had such a huge impact here that we would like to buy part back if it works with the new owner and use on small group of cows or heifers.

Transcon Livestock Corp. reserves the right to require a certified cheque as settlement before releasing any sale cattle. Should any purchaser fail to settle for his purchase Transcon Livestock Corp. reserves full power to resell the animal to the best advantage either publicly or privately, without further notice. Any loss arising from such resale together with keep and all other expenses shall be payable by the defaulter. All settlements must be made with the clerks of the sale before any cattle will be released.BID - Every animal consigned to the sale must be sold by auction. No private sales will be allowed except as otherwise provided for in the terms and conditions. No by-bidding will be permitted. Each animal will be sold to the highest bidder.SALES TAXES – Applicable sales taxes will be charged on semen, embryos and trucking fees (if listed), respective to the home province of the buyer, not the seller.DISPUTES - In cases of disputes, bidding will be reopened between the parties involved.
