Welcome: On behalf of everyone at Red Cliffs Primary I welcome the following new students to their new school - Degan (Gr1) and Nevaeh Foster (Prep) and Zoey (Gr2) and Jasmyn (Gr1) Wadwell.
Aussie of The Month: Congratulations to Dylan Leersen, Red Cliffs Primary School’s Aussie of the Month for May. Dylan is a wonderful role model for fellow students. He always tries his hardest and sets a great example for others. Well done Dylan! Students with Illness: Managing children that appear to be “slightly” unwell is a difficult task. Often “ill” children will get through the day without problems but sometimes this causes issues for other children. Unwell children can pass on the virus or infection to others. Some children have reduced immunity to illnesses and coming into contact with ill children can cause them serious problems. It is always best to keep ill children home. Eisteddfod: 38 grade 5/6 children competed in the Mildura Eisteddfod today. I was thrilled to see them performing and enjoying themselves on stage. I am also very proud to announce that our school was declared the winner of our section. Well done kids! Have a great week!

EXPECTATIONS— HONESTY—RESPECT—RESPONSIBILITY
Science News This week: - Prep children will investigate ways they use force to make everyday objects move. Gr. 1 & 2 children will make a shaker using either a plastic bottle, cardboard roll from Gladwrap or something similar. Dried beans, rice or pasta will be placed inside and the outside decorated. The children will work in a small group to compare the sounds made and to create their own music. Gr. 3 & 4 children completed problem solving activities related to their study of conductors and insulators. Gr. 5 & 6 completed an experiment to find out if translucent and opaque objects cast shadows.
Did you know a refrigeration company called Malleys created the Esky in Sydney, Australia? They were first sold in the summer of 1952. It was commonly referred as the Auto Esky Box.
