High-pressure pump to meet high demands
Located at Botany Bay in the south-eastern part of Australia, the Sydney seawater
desalination plant produces 250 MLD (mega liters per day) of pure drinking water
to ensure a reliable supply of water for the people in the metropolitan resident
area of Sydney.
As KSB is the only supplier to consistently pursue the design principle of radially
split reverse osmosis high-pressure pumps, HGM-RO pumps from KSB were
chosen due to their proven efficiency (87% efficiency in the 1st stage high pressure
pump), lower energy consumption and maintenance-friendly design – resulting in
low life-cycle costs. The technical and commercial decision-makers at Sydney Water
were convinced by these advantages over split casing pumps used in Australian
desalination plants until now.
