REFLECTIONREFLECTION• is the change in direction of
a wavefront at an interface between two different media so that the wavefront returns into the medium from which it originated.
• Common examples include the reflection of light (mirror, etc.), sound (echoes, etc.) and water waves.

reflected wave = reflected ray
barrier = Reflecting surface

REFRACTION• is the bending of a wave when it enters a
medium where its speed is different. The refraction of light when it passes from a fast medium to a slow medium bends the light ray toward the normal to the boundary between the two media.
