decorating the church for Advent. There will be lunch
provided to those who are willing to stay and help setup.
Jubilee Christmas
Every December, through the generosity of the members of CUMC, we are able to provide 20 families with Christmas assistance in the form of clothing, food boxes, cleaning baskets, new toys, blankets, ornaments, Bibles, cookie trays and many other items. This year, Jubilee Christmas will take place on Saturday, December 9th. The families in need are referred to us from Lafayette Urban Ministry (LUM). Jubilee is a wonderful event which brings the meaning of Christmas close to home. However, the giving would not be possible without our congregation’s generous gifts. If you would like to donate to Jubilee, please place your offering in a Jubilee Christmas envelope. There are also many ways to volunteer: shopping, working at church, organizing items, baking cookies, hosting a family or wrapping gifts. The reward of seeing these families have a Christmas that would not otherwise be possible is truly a blessing for all. Watch for Jubilee set up on Saturday, November 11th from 10:00 AM to noon and kick-off in service on Sunday, November 12th. Also, this year we are looking for 3 to 4 persons to volunteer as future Jubilee leaders. We are asking at this time so we can train new leadership to take over the Jubilee program at our church next year. We have been blessed to have had the opportunity to serve so many families in the Lafayette community through Jubilee Christmas. We hope the future Jubilee coordinators enjoy serving the Lafayette community as much as we have.

REJOICE IN ME ALWAYS! No matter what is going on, you
can rejoice in your Love-relationship with Me. This is the
secret of being content in all circumstance. So many people
dream of the day when they will finally be happy: when
they are out of debt, when their children are out of trouble,
when they have more leisure time, and so on. While they
daydream, their moments are trickling into the ground like
precious balm spilling wastefully from overturned bottles.
Fantasizing about future happiness will never bring
fulfillment, because fantasy is unreality. Even though I am
invisible, I am far more Real than the world you see around
you. My reality is eternal and unchanging. Bring your
moments to Me, and I will fill them with vibrant Joy. Now
is the time to rejoice in My Presence!
