SCQF
The Scottish Credit and Qualifications Framework (SCQF), has been designed to enable learners, employers, parents and those involved in providing education to understand how Scottish qualifications relate to each other.
The framework was developed in partnership between the Scottish Executive, Scottish Qualifications Authority (SQA), Universities Scotland and the Quality Assurance Agency for Higher Education. It brings most mainstream qualifications from Access 1 (SCQF Level 1) to Doctorate Degree (SCQF Level 12) into a single framework.

Check out the courses on the website and browse through the mini prospectus, applying for a course at Reid Kerr is easy. Once you have decided on your course you can apply on-line, by phone on 0800 052 7343 or 0141 581 2222, in person or by filling in the application form in this mini prospectus and sending it in to Admissions. If you are unsure of the right course for you or the level of qualification you should apply for contact our Admissions Team who will be happy to advise you on the options available to you, or you could make an appointment to see one of the College’s Careers Advisors. On receipt of your application form you will be sent an acknowledgement letter or email from the College. For some courses you may in the first instance be requested to complete a Reference Form, the form will be assessed and if successful you will receive details of an interview.
If an interview or audition is required an interview invitation or choice of interview dates will be sent to you. Dependant on the outcome of your interview you could
be sent a Conditional Offer (pending exam results), an Unconditional Offer or Unsuccessful Letter.

We realise the importance to students of being able to study free from financial worries and accordingly, we do our very best to help students in relation to financial matters.
You can discuss your financial situation, in confidence, with our staff. The Admissions Team will be happy to advise you on SAAS application and loan, you do not need an appointment and can drop in at any time during opening hours. SAAS applications are made on-line at http://www.saas.gov.uk/. To ensure Higher National Funding is in place for the start of your course apply to SAAS online and send any relevant documents by 30th June.
The Bursaries and Funding Team will assist you with your Bursary/EMA application, as well as any application you might make for our Housing, Childcare and Discretionary funds, should you experience financial difficulties once you have started your course.
If you are a full-time UK/European student taking an HNC/HND course, you can apply to the Student Awards Agency for Scotland (SAAS) for an award. In line with government guidelines we may be obliged to charge RUK (Rest of UK) students a higher level of tuition fee.
If you are taking Highers on a full-time basis or an SQA National Qualification programme, you can apply for a College Bursary/Education Maintenance Allowance
(EMA).
The application for Bursary/EMA will be online by 21st May at http://cams.reidkerr.ac.uk. Staff in the Admissions Unit & Bursaries/Funding Front Desk, located beside the main reception are in Renfrew Building, can advise you on how to apply. Please note that we are also open during the College Summer Break for enquiries about what financial assistance is available to you once you commence your studies.
International tuition fees apply to all
applicants who are not European nationals. International tuition fees are available on application.

The Students’ Association
The Students’ Association is the representative organisation for students within Reid Kerr College. It is run by the students for the students. It aims to maintain and improve student welfare, finance and facilities, both within the College and on a national level through affiliated membership of the National Union of Students (NUS).
Membership of the Students’ Association is free and automatic to all Reid Kerr students.

Reid Kerr College offers a range of Highers, which can be studied on a full or part-time basis.
Highers are recognised qualifications, extending the student’s knowledge and understanding and providing a good grounding in the subject studied. They provide an ideal basis for progressing to further study or assisting career advancement.
Subjects are offered subject to student demand.

A selection of National Units, including Core Skills subjects, will also be available at Intermediate 1 or Intermediate 2 level.
Reid Kerr College and the Open University have a partnership agreement that allows students with an HNC or HND a number of progression options to Open University Degrees. The Partnership enables you to use credit points gained from your HNC/D to reduce the amount of time required to get your degree.
The Open University’s BA or BSc (Open) degree allows students to choose from a wide range of OU modules tailored to their personal and vocational needs. This allows students to either build on the subject areas studied at college or provides the flexibility to develop skills and knowledge in other
subject areas.
As an Open University student via this partnership you will have full access to Reid Kerr College facilities and Support Staff. This includes our OU Centre where you can meet with tutors or simply use the facilities to study, access
resources or use our dedicated IT facilities and
on-line resources. You will also have access to our library and
flexible drop in IT and study suites and our full range of Support Services. For further information why not drop into our dedicated OU Centre located at our main campus on Renfrew Road.
