Typical Commissioning Processes

*Pre-commissioning

Off-site preparation and testing of configurations, using simulators where applicable. Creation of operator manuals and test plans for all test phases.

*Validation of Mechanical Completion Equipment and construction checks, coupled with testing, ensure that all installations are in accordance with the specified layout.

Purely remote phase.

Remote phase with a potential impact on efficiency. When possible, on-site presence is recommended.

Recommended engineers’ presence on-site, but not required. It depends on the end customer requests.

Preconditions for Remote Commissioning $ Finalized Mechanical WorkBefore the start of commissioning, all required mechanical parts must be installed, the facilities built, and safety standards met on-site.

$ Requirements Known, Scope DefinedPrior to planning of a commissioning final requirements, documentation must be signed by the end customer. Team starts its work when the scope of work is agreed between Comtrade and the partner.

$ Knowledge TransferIn order to properly install and configure product, as well as to adequately recognize root cause of defects and report them, commissioning team needs to be trained by partner product specialists to get thorough knowledge of the software system structure.

$ Local Engineers Trained On-site team needs to be trained to safely execute required actions, as well as to recognize defects and irregularities in the behaviour.

$ Remote Access to the Site Must Be Established In order to establish remote connection to the site, network infrastructure has to be prepared, VPN configured, needed access rights granted.

$ On-site Support from the Local EngineersMinimum personnel is needed on-site to perform actions under the guidance of experienced remote engineers, while reporting back the visual results of the actions. At the same time, remote engineers are monitoring the behavior using the application and communication log files.
