REPORT AND ACTIVITIES FOR 2009Since HWA was registered as a NGO in July 2009 the association has been deeply involved in variousactivities for the special people

1. A means of providing the Special people with employment.2. Training in Horticulture and developing the physical and mentally challenged people fine and

gross motive skills.3. Awareness programs carried out at various schools.4. Celebration of white cane Day and disable Day.5. Entertainment program for the special people.

EMPLOYMENT:

HWA has provided eight (08) special people with employment at the Green Finger Botanical GardenNursery where these people are being trained in the art of Horticulture, and working in an environmentclose to nature.

TRAINING:

HWA is providing training to the Special people and children of Ujala and KVTCin order to develop their fine and gross motive skill including their eye and handcoordination and body balance. It has been observed that there has been a

marked improvement in their development and out of which two of the special people of KVTC has

been given employment at the Green Fingers Botanical Garden Nursery.

AWARENESS PROGRAM ON DISABLE DAY:

HWA had arranged various awareness programs at the schools were these specialpeople received a warm welcome by the students and teachers. These special

people could demonstrate their skills in Horticulture. This occasion was celebrated on 15th Dec 2009 atFrobel Education Centre.

CELEBRATION OF WHITE CANE DAY:

On 08th October 2009 HWA organized a program on white cane day where all thespecial people and their parents were invited to celebrate this special occasion.Ms. Rehana Saif the Executive District Officer Community Development

Department, City District Government, Karachi was the Chief Guest. Other known figures were Mrs.

Zubida Tariq, Bajia and Mrs Azra Mansoor artist and the media from GEO, News 1 and Radio 91 werepresent at the occasion. The program was a success and an inspiration to the special people and theirparents.

HWA has organized various entertainments for the special people in order toensure that they are a part of society, to create a worm feeling among themthat they are a part of us and to motivate them to show their inner skills.

Humnasheen Welfare Association and its members has, is and will be dedicated to the welfare of thespecial people and provide them with training, employment and every possible facility within the aimsand objectives that it has set forth and we hope that the future bring progress and success to theassociation which will always be in the benefit of the special people as an open book.
