History Of Digipacks• Digipacks typically consist of a gatefold (book-style) paperboard or

card stock outer binding, with one or more plastic trays capable of holding a CD or DVD attached to the inside. Since Digipacks were among the first alternatives to jewel cases to be used by major record companies, and because there is no other common name for Digipack-style packaging made by other companies, the term Digipack or Digi-Pak is often used generically, even when the media holder is a hub or "Soft Spot" rather than a full plastic tray. Oasis Dig pack ( Rock)

The colour of the dig pack is quite low key and puts more emphasis on the title of the band “Oasis”. The colour of the guitar is presented throughout the dig pack and creates a essence of brown throughout the dig pack suggesting harmony. The guitar suggest that the music is the most important asset to the dig pack as this is a popular instrument used within rock oasis tracks.

LiL Wayne Digipack (Hip-Hop)

This is an example of a Digipack by the hip-hop superstar “ Lil Wayne. Unlike the Oasis Digipack the artist is the main attraction and selling point on the cover. In a sense it shows that not only the music is being sold but the artist also plays a vital role to the success of the Digipack selling . The image shows the artist in a luxury scenery which suggest power and wealth a common association with many hip-hop artist. The guitar normally seen in other genres such as rock is also been seen within this image suggesting a move towards breaking the barriers of chains and females been shown as a popular prop.
