Tumpek Landep is a special day dedicated to God Sanghyang Pasupati. On this

day, Balinese show their gratitude to God Sanghyang Pasupati and all metal

appliances that make life of Balinese People easier and safer. Falls every Sanisara

Kliwon Wuku Landep based on Balinese calendar system, the Tumpek Landep

words came from word ‘landep’, a high Balinese dialect means ‘sharp’ and usually

associated with weapon. Traditionally, on this day tools and family heirlooms of

weaponry, such as sacred swords or keris are sanctified. By the time goes by a

great change occur in celebration of this holiday. Nowadays, all metal based and

plastic based implements are given veneration and offerings such as car, motor-

cycle, bicycle, computer, television, scissors, knife and many more.

Car, motorbike and bicycle will be decorated with coconut leafs adornment and

the offering. Balinese people mostly celebrate this Tumpek Landep in the morning

before going to work.
