A Common Belief:
Students often think that any resources they can grab from the net should be theirs for the taking.
Look at it this way:
Does leaving your car open give people the right to take what they want –just because you made it easy?
No?
Many people feel the same
way about their work.
It’s their property.
When you take the work of others, remix it, & present it as your own without obtaining permission or giving credit …
… you are disrespecting their efforts & creativity.
And that’s a form of stealing.
Remember:Just because you think no one is being hurt is not a good enough reason to take what is not yours.
