Restasis Eye Drops (Cyclosporine Ophthalmic Solution) belongs to a class of medicines called immunomodulators and is used to increase tear production in people with ocular inflammation associated with keratoconjunctivitis sicca (dry eye disease). Cyclosporine works by decreasing swelling in the eye and thereby allows tear production to occur.

Restasis Eye Drops have to be stored at controlled room temperature i.e. from 20C to 25C (68F to 77F) with excursions permitted between 15 to 30C (59 to 86F). Store in a cool, dry and dark place.Keep this as well as all other medicines away from children and pets.
Warnings

To avoid the potential for eye injury and contamination, be careful not to touch the vial tip to your eye or other surfaces.Restasis Eye Drops should not be administered while wearing contact lenses. Patients with decreased tear production typically must not wear contact lenses. If contact lenses are worn, they should be removed prior to the administration of the emulsion. Lenses may be reinserted 15 minutes after administration of cyclosporine ophthalmic emulsion.

This medicine can cause blurred vision. Do not drive, use machinery, or do any activity that requires clear vision until you are certain that you can undertake such activities safely.

Use one drop of Restasis Eye Drops (Cyclosporine ophthalmic emulsion) twice a day in each eye, approximately 12 hours apart. Discard the vial immediately after use.

Contraindications
Restasis Eye Drops are contraindicated in patients with a hypersensitivity to Cyclosporine or any other component of this medication.

Other side effects reported in 1% to 5% of patients included conjunctival hyperaemia, discharge, epiphora, eye pain, foreign body sensation, pruritus, stinging and visual disturbance (most often blurring).
