Programme of Events

Events include:

This programme of events has been organised to showcase the excellent work being embedded in Swansea. Restorative training is being rolled-out across Swansea on a rolling programme with the aim for all schools and organisations to use the approach.

Swansea’s BIG Check-in

Schools and organisations are invited to be part of a record breaking event and join the City & County of Swansea’s biggest check-in. All Schools and organisations already trained in Restorative Approaches are asked to hold a check-in with everyone present on Monday morning between 8.45am – 9.15am.

Creating a Mood Board

Need some new ideas? Share your own creation! Help inspire others!

This is a one-hour workshop session sharing examples of effective mood boards used with pupils and staff. The workshop will include discussion on the benefits of using feelings charts. Venue: Cadle Primary School Date: Tuesday 24

An invitation to be part of an open ADDs session In this informative workshop you will learn and discuss the 4 key elements of implementing an explicit framework in dealing with harm and relationships. Venue: Blaenymaes Primary School Date: Tuesday 24

Artist in Residence Workshop

This is a multi-school pupil workshop. The artist Keith Bayliss will work with primary and secondary school pupils from Restorative Practice Schools, to create artwork that will be used in promoting RP in Swansea. Venue: Art Room, Townhill Primary School Date: Monday 23

Children’s Training Session

Training for pupils to support embedding Restorative Approaches (RA) in the school

Pupils will be introduced to RA and given the tools to effectively deal with low level interventions by means of affective statements and questions. As a result of completing the course they would be used with the school as mentors in RA. Training will take place in the following venues with some additional places available to schools to bring some of their own pupils. What is Restorative Justice?

Restorative processes bring those harmed by crime or conflict, and those responsible for the harm, into communication, enabling everyone affected by a particular incident to play a part in repairing the harm and finding a positive way forward.

An opportunity to visit the Youth Justice Centre to understand the Restorative Justice approach, working with those that have been directly affected to those harmed. The visit includes a tour of the centre and workshop areas. Venue: Youth Justice Centre, Unit 5, Sharpmaster House, 117 Ystrad Road,
