Oct 2013 - present | Lead Green Building Instructor @ Sustainable South Bronx (BEST Academy) | Bronx, NY

Designed the lesson plans, scheduled the semester, and taught the basics of “green” design and construction.

Half the students in this selective, grant-based adult education class received BPI and/or GPRO: FUND + O&M

Certifications upon successful completion, while the remaining half received hands-on construction experience

with another instructor under my supervision.

Highlights: Produced the highest GPro Exam grades, highest class passing rate, and best internship rate post-

graduation in the 8-year history of the program.

Installed and managed the construction of decks and roof terraces throughout the city. The construction

system was a pre-fab “kit-of-parts” developed and patented by the owner.

Oct 2006 - Dec 2010 | Partner @ Newark Art Supply, LLC | Newark, NJ

Earned many accolades in the press including the NY Times and Washington Post. The shop produced positive

revenue growth every year despite the worldwide recession. As partner, I co-managed all daily operations

including supervising employees, bookkeeping, inventory, payroll, graphic design, budgeting, coordinating art

exhibitions and workshops, marketing, business development, and customer service. As framer, I was

responsible for framing sales, purchasing, and production. During our start-up phase, I took care of loan

procurement, design and construction, store set-up, business registration, and employee hiring.

Noteworthy Clients: The City of Newark, Rutgers University, Mayor Cory Booker, Amiri Baraka, NJPAC, Aljira,

Newark Arts Council, GNBDC, The Rockefeller Foundation.

The premiere construction management firm in the Tri-State area. Began my tenure as an Assistant PM where I

was involved in bidding, budgeting, subcontractor coordination, and logistics plans. Quickly promoted to Field

Superintendent where I supervised the coordination of on-site construction with Construction Documents and

Shop Drawings, scheduled the day-to-day construction on-site, coordinated the delivery and installation of all

materials to the site, rectified unforeseen site conditions and construction issues, and organized punch list

completion and final turnover to Client.
