Sales Training

Level 1: STIHL ApprenticeThe Apprentice Level is a web-based training via STIHL iCademy®. To complete the Apprentice Level, a retailer employee must complete approximately thirty trainings. These trainings include information on topics such as the STIHL Engine Check, Customer Service, Merchandising, Bar & Chain, Warranty Policies, and more. The list of required trainings can be seen by logging into STIHL iCademy®. Select the Apprentice Training Track to review completion process.

Level 2: STIHL AdvocateAfter completing the Apprentice Level, the Advocate Level can be achieved through In-Field Training. To complete the Advocate Level, the following must be accomplished:

• Attend a one-day training event throughout the territory• PowerPoint presentations involving attendee/participant interaction• New & improved product updates/comparisons• STIHL KnowledgeNOW video series interaction

The STIHL Advocate Test is a requirement to be nominated for the Ambassador Level.

Level 3: STIHL AmbassadorThe STIHL Ambassador Level is the highest achievement in the training program. Both the Apprentice Level and Advocate Level must be completed for consideration in the Ambassador Level. The STIHL Ambassador Level training will take place in the J. Thomas Jones Training Center at Bryan Equipment Sales and includes a two-day event in the fall.

Acceptance into the Ambassador Level will require a written nomination from the Bryan Equipment Sales Territory Manager upon completion of the Apprentice and Advocate Levels. Territory Managers nominate retailers annually. Once the Ambassador level is accomplished, continuing education is mandatory. This includes the Ambassador maintaining a 100% completion level on STIHL iCademy®, being educated on all new products, mentoring other retail staff, and attending any STIHL web conference offered.

We also offer STIHL BASICS, a two-day new retailer training, STIHL OUTREACH, a retailer training which takes place at the retail location, and STIHL KnowledgeNOW comprehensive training videos.

Specialized trainings will arm your employees with needed product knowledge, selling skills, and show that you are invested in their continued success at your retail location. Bryan Equipment Sales has created the Training Advantage Program, which includes top notch sales and technical trainings. Your employees will gain the sales and technical skills that are key to making your independent business a success.

Technical Training

Level 1: STIHL BronzeBronze qualification is received after completing all Bronze Level training modules and respective tests on STIHL iCademy®. Once this is complete, the STIHL service technician can advance to Level 2, STIHL Silver training.

Level 2: STIHL SilverTwo-day Silver training seminars take place throughout the year. Technicians that have passed the Bronze Level will be asked to take an in-depth look into the working features of STIHL engines and carburetors. This seminar will focus on troubleshooting, diagnostics, and repair.

Level 3: STIHL Gold MasterWrenchAfter a STIHL technician has successfully completed Bronze and Silver training, they can apply to attend a Gold Level MasterWrench Service® training conducted at STIHL Incorporated’s manufacturing and training facilities located in Virginia Beach, Virginia.

This three-day training curriculum includes service training related to practical failure analysis, product troubleshooting and repair, spark control systems, and fuel system design and troubleshooting. Technicians must take a final exam which consists of actual product troubleshooting and repair, a “hands-on” practical test, and written examination.

Level 4: STIHL Platinum MasterWrenchSTIHL has introduced the highest level of technical training - STIHL Platinum MasterWrenchService®. Once a technician has achieved the Gold Level, they can apply to attend thethree-day Platinum training, conducted at STIHL Incorporated in Virginia Beach, Virginia.

Training topics include practical failure analysis, advanced troubleshooting, and repair proceduresfor gasoline and electric powered products. Technicians must take a final exam.

Beyond the MasterWrench Service® Program, we offer additional technical trainings including Introductory Service Technician Seminar, Annual Technical Update Service Seminar, Service Management Workshop, Web Conferences, MasterWrench® Mentoring, and MasterWrench® Re-certification.
