Lighthouse CD of the Week: Our Lady of Guadalupe

Many people have heard of Our Lady of Guadalupe, but few people know her story. In this talk, speaker and catechist Luis Soto (who himself was born and raised in Mexico) shares the little-known history and life-changing importance of Mary’s appearance to a peasant man named Juan Diego, and the miraculous image she left behind. Loved by millions (including St. John Paul II), Our Lady of Guadalupe is a patron and example of how to share the Gospel with the whole world.

St. Stephen Ministry Introductory WorkshopIn his beautiful Christmas message, Father Phil informed us that St. Joseph Marello Parish is embarking on a new ministry to deepen and expand our parish’s person-to-person, Christ-centered, caregiving capacity which helps make disciples. Now we have more good news that St. Stephen Ministries is offering an Introductory Workshop on February 23, 2019, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at St. John’s Episcopal Church located at 2351 Pleasant Grove Blvd. inRoseville.

By attending the St. Stephen Ministry Introductory Workshop, you and others from our parish can experience a sample of St. Stephen Ministries’ training to develop grief ministry skills that you can put to use right away. In addition, the workshop will include the basics of St. Stephen Ministry, how it works, the benefits it offers, and how to integrate faith into everyday caring and relating to others. By attending this workshop you are not committing to becoming a St. Stephen Minister. It is hoped that by attending this workshop it will be a good opportunity to hear what the people from St. Stephen Ministries have to say and answer any questions we may have for them.

Please put February 23 on your calendar and register for this Introductory Workshop by signing up on the sign-up sheet in the entrance to church or by e-mail [email protected].
