Specifying camera angles to help while filming.

This is my revised screenplay for the opening of my thriller.

Screenplay

INT. GIRL’S BEDROOM MORNING.

The morning after, the Girl is lying in bed about to wake up with a rather innocent and childlike face; her room is filled with items of the night before.

Camera zooms into her phone where a number of texts appear from her friend saying “What happened? You disappeared last night babe! Text me back ASAP”

The girl reads the texts and then stares at her phone in a trance.

Flash back occurs from the day before with her friend asking her to come to this party.

EXT.SCHOOL – LOCKERS, AFTERNOON.

FRIEND

You never come out! Why are you so boring all the time?

GIRL

I know, it’s just I am not really into the party scene. But, fine I will come for a bit.

FRIEND

Okay! Thank god. I will pick you up from your house tonight.

INT. GIRL’S BEDROOM, PRESENT DAY.

Girl is about to get up and as she puts her feet on the floor she feels something under her feet.

Camera- high angle shot to pills scattered all over the floor and pill cap is off.

Flash back of her and her friend taking the pills while loud music surrounds them.

INT. HOUSE PARTY, EVENING.

Various people and Girl gathered on sofa lining up lines of cocaine using some form of card.

Music fades out.

INT. GIRL’S BEDROOM, MORNING.

Camera returns to the girl who is now out of bed and looking through a pile of clothes to see what to wear, she appears to be panicked and in a rush because she will be late for school.

We added INT/EXT for each scene in the script, so that we knew whether it was inside or outside and also to specify when editing, remembering where everything was filmed etc.

So we know when to add music/helps with editing stage!

Page 2: Revised Screenplay

Picks up top that she wore the night before.

Camera zooms into blood stains and Girl looks very shocked.

She drops the top in complete fear of what may have occurred last night.

Girl changes clothes for school. (Off camera)

Girl grabs coat and phone and rushes downstairs to get breakfast.

She gets a glass bottle of juice from the fridge and as soon as she touches it, the flashback happens.

EXT. DARK ALLEY WAY, EVENING.

She starts walking to find a quiet place to breathe and think.

Some guy sees her looking distressed and clearly not in the right state of mind.

He comes over and asks

GUY

You okay? (He smiles in a perverted way unintentionally).

She grabs a bottle in her closest sight and smashes his head with it.

Scene immediately cuts

INT. GIRL’S KITCHEN, MORNING.

She grabs her coat and heads confused, panicked and panting to the front door.

Her friend is at the front door waiting; she opens the door and puts her hands in her pocket due to the cold weather.

She takes out a white substance rapped in cling film which she wasn't aware was there.

Both of them look up at each other.

Camera tilts and faces the sky, title of film appears: DISARRAY

Fade out.

Good for editing stage! Jump cuts etc.
