C. Present Perfect
Use:
We use the Present Perfect to say that an action happened at an unspecified time before now.
You CANNOT use the Present Perfect with specific time expressions such as: yesterday, one year ago, last week, when I was a child, at that moment, etc.
You CAN use the Present Perfect with unspecific expressions such as: ever, many times, several times, since, for, yet, just, etc.

Past Continuous – interrupted actions
We use the “Past Continuous” to talk about something happening at the same time as another action in the past. One action interrupts the other action.
