Revolutionary War Newspaper Project – Group Research As part of our study of the American Revolution, you will be creating an American Revolution Newspaper project. You will work with your group members to research the topics and build a strong poster presentation. Complete the following requirements for full credit: 1) Within your group, research the following topics on the American Revolution to write your articles: a. The Life of a Soldier (Daily Routines, camps, why join the army, etc.) b. Medical Care/Treatments for wounded c. The Role of Women in the War d. Technology/Military strategies (Weapons, Battle tactics etc.) e. Write an article on one specific battle of the war (Answer the 5 W’s, very detailed) f. “Open Topic” (If you have something else worthwhile in mind) 2) On Thursday and Friday 10/14-10/15 we are signed up for the library. On Thursday, each individual person should research the group’s topics. Each person will submit to me a minimum of 2 pages of Cornell Notes. This could also be worked on Thursday night for H/W. When you come to class on Friday, your group should look at each other’s research and begin crafting your articles. Remember it should be based upon historic fact and written as a third person newspaper article, not a first hand account. Remember the model of your eleven sentence paragraph. Support your facts with details!! 3) You will cite your sources used in a “Works Consulted” page attached to your article. We will discuss how to do this, but it is very important that each group member document where you got your information from! Utilize the resources grid that I provide for you during our MLA format discussion/lesson. 4) Your group will submit your articles and Cornell Notes on Thursday October 21 st .

Revolutionary War Newspaper Project – Group Research
