Amino acids salts: Amino acid salts combine two aspects together. At least one of the components is an amino acid. The other could be as well an amino acid as another component such as HCl. Keto acids: Keto acids can be converted into the corresponding amino acids by binding the ammonia produced during protein decom-position within the body.

These amino acids can then be used for protein synthesis or as energy providers without increasing the level of free ammonia.

Therefore, keto acids stimulate the ammonia detoxification of the body, and they enhance muscle by preventing muscle damage from intensive training (anti-catabolic effect).
